@soulsings I watched a video with a woman talking about life. In that video she mentioned that bad days are like weather just passing through. Such are inner critical thoughts.
I used to have an inner critic that seemed to be quite logical, but in effect harmful. Whenever I don’t reach my goals, I think about how fun it can be to try again and be successful next time. We need challenges in life to keep life interesting. Having said that life is never boring.
I guess I don’t have a friendly voice, but I just remind myself that I can’t turn on myself and hate myself for not doing well. I don’t hate anybody, so it would be silly to hate myself. I feel that the inner critic is the first step in depression. There is no need to console yourself for doing something wrong. Just move on and do better next time.

I definitely have an "inner critic" and of course mine may be different than others. I'm glad that I have an "inner critic" as having a lack of one, might represent not having a conscious? No moral compass? That little voice that speaks to us and tells us "what is the best thing to do in this situation"?
I'm thankful for my "inner critic" as with out it, I could potentially be incredibly hedonistic and not care about the feelings and rights of others? Thank you "inner critic". I appreciate you! ❤️ Thank you for helping me to stay on track, to care about others and ergo, sleep very well at night. Thank you inner critic for giving me a certain level of discernment.
Thank you inner critic for letting me know when enough is enough. Thank you for letting me know when it's time for self care, for reminding me that I matter too. Inner critic, thank you for letting me know when it's time to let others go deal with themselves, lol 😊 Thank you for reminding me when others really need to go adopt an inner critic if they don't have one for themselves.
Thank you inner critic for my amazing credit score, hahaha hahah! Oh, inner critic, you sure do keep me honest now don't ya'? You sure do make sure I pay and in a timely manner and have respect to all of my creditors. Inner critic, while we both know I may not be extremely wealthy, it is because of you that I have a credit score of 841 out of a potential 850. (Funny moment when a lender explains to you that the only person that has a better credit score than you is God)! 😊
Thank you inner critic for a clean and tidy home. Thank you inner critic for reminding me when I really should eat a little bit better and get more exercise in there. Thank you inner critic for a clean driving record, a clean background check and for never having a police report filed against me or having to do jail or prison time. I think what I needed to do quite a while back was to tease things apart. What was my little voice and my inner critic and what was the overly critical voice of another that never had my best interests at heart? My inner critic seems to be a bit solid. The voices of others are worthless when they don't even know how to live their own lives, have ruined theirs as well as many others and are are filled with hatred and envy.
Thank you inner critic for letting me know that It's all going to be okay, that I don't need to strive for perfection and doing so is fruitless. Thank you inner critic for letting me know that some days I have done enough, let it be, tomorrow is another day.

@SparkyGizmo I think that is your conscience that you are thanking. That is good to hear you are listening so well.
The inner critic I am talking about is more like an abuser that will gaslight me if I let it. I am not against a conscience. I also have an inner spy that keeps an eye on things and lets me know when I might make a wrong step.
Glad you shared all those wonderful things about you and I am happy you have that inner conscience that is aware and cares.

Okay, this is a really cool moment as I am someone that really enjoys feedback and being actively mentored/learning! Thinking that maybe what my inner critic could look like, might be something like.....

So how I would try to deal with my inner critic would be reaching for the positives and reframing the negative thoughts, thought replacement with something more like.....

I love the idea of an "inner spy". 😊 That actually sounds adorable to me! A friend of mine has a really cute miniature chihuahua. Is it cute, yes. Is it cranky, yes. Does it peek at you with one eye on the side of a door frame when you are in another room, yes. It spy's on you thinking that you are unaware, lol 😊 I think this is how I *see* my inner spy. Always got one eye on ya', hahah hhahahah.
