I don’t usually celebrate Halloween except to hand out candy to the kids. I guess it’s just not my thing to dress up and go out anymore.
@Lauren63 I hear you I do not go to costume parties or eat candy. We had no tirck=-or-treaters this year as usual.

As I'm also religious, it's about honouring and remembering the dead, and lighting candles for their souls and giving thanks for the impact they made in my life 💜💕
@Amanda84 I think showing gratitude for the kindness of so many people is a wonderful tradition.
It resembles evil and Satan so I don’t celebrate it or want my kid getting attacked by demons so no trick or treating tonight it’s all sugar coded evil I use to trick or treat with my friend even as a Christian not knowing what I was really doing til I researched and looked at verses on the Bible about joining the evil worldly people. He takes innocent children and has demons haunt their precious souls and today alot of kids need praying over! It’s the only holiday celebrated at night by having kids dress up and go to house to house.

Not much celebration here in the French countryside. We used to have Mardi-Gras rather for costumes and maybe "Half-Lent", both in the Springtime. Basically, the kids mostly celebrate it at school and may have a parade, but we don't see them going from door to door to collect candy.
Halloween was the Celtic New Year and Jack O'Lantern was made out of a big turnip before it turned into a pumpkin in the USA. The Christian Church took that date to celebrate All Saints and then All Dead the next day, hence more traffic in the cemeteries.

We do not celebrate Halloween as such here, but I enjoy seeing it on TV especially the costumes and pumpkin carvings!

I love traditions as it can give anyone something nice to look forward to. Long ago, I started the tradition of making a big pot of chili for Halloween, sharing it with others in an effort for them to have a nice hot meal with out having to cook or do many dishes after dinner.
It free's others up to just enjoy their evening whether it be a busy one with eating quickly and heading out or more subdued and handing out candy to trick or treaters. 🎃
I'll be having a relaxing evening at home with friends over to have chili and to watch the movie "Hotel Transylvania". Cute movie and not scary. 👻
