Something nice I am looking forward to is my sister coming to visit me from out of state. It will be the second time in my whole life that she has come to celebrate my birthday coming up soon. 😊I hope she will still be able to come with the sudden loss of another sister yesterday. Only 3 of us left out of 12.

Thank you so much, I am an old woman now and thank God to see my 72nd birthday on the 21st.

Gathering mushrooms. What with the rain here and the season, there are tons out there and at least four varieties.
@Fradiga I love mushrooms. When their cooked they look like little slugs😋becarerful which ones you pick, I'm sure you know what your doing, but be careful ❤

@Fradiga That is one of the things that is on my bucket list. Learning how to forage for mushrooms safely. Seems like a relaxing yet productive hobby, and I love to cook. 🥰

@niceSea1350 I learned about mushrooms and it was an interesting pasttime, but where I live there are many kinds of mushrooms, some of which are poisonous. After reading some of the stories of people who mistook a safe kind of mushroom for ones that are inedible, I did not want to have their fate to have serious problems.
I finally concluded with the amount of mushrooms I eat, I buy them at the store. That is not the end of my curiosity and interest in nature, but the end of the story for me as far as foraging goes.

Wild mushrooms are expensive and not always locally harvested. I understand the feeling of safety from store-buying, but I trust more what I have picked myself. You train with people of experience and then you're just fine. If you do not know how toxic that mushroom is, you don't pick it. Some are not toxic at all, but have no taste, so don't pick it either :) . Same for a lot of foodstuff actually. The last few generations have been taught to trust the food industry more than what grows in your backyard.

Nice! I find reading can be very relaxing. What is your favorite genre if I may ask?
@amiablePeace77 I read the Japanese comics while I'm waiting for my bus. I do like reading actual books but the Japanese books are lighter to carry in my bag. I read a lot of the classics when I was younger. Kipling, Tolkien, Shakespeare, C.S. Lewis, etc.
The genres I tend to pick up with the Japanese (and occasionally Korean) comics tend to be action and adventure. Sometimes mystery or supernatural.
I personally like writing fantasy when I get spare moments but that not much lately.

You seem to have a diverse taste in literature! Shakespeare's literature is not easy to read! Nice that you also enjoy Japanese and Korean comics. I do not read the comic books but occasionally I watch funny videos from Japan or Korea. Btw do you speak Japanese or Korean if you feel okay to say?

@amiablePeace77 I am looking forward to doing my monthly grocery shopping in a few days. I love winter months for making chili, loaded potato soup, all kinds of nice stews in the slow cooker, chicken pot pie...I love all of the winter time comfort foods that I can start making. 🥰

Using a slow cooker makes sense, slow cooking destroys fewer nutrients than high-heat cooking.
I can relate to a nice chili or a potato soup if it's cold outside! The winter months also have some good sides 😀

@anxx I am glad you are being with friends. I have made the mistake of telling my friends everything and burned them out. Sometimes it is better to say less to friends and more to journal and therapist I find. Hope you have a good visit.

What I am looking forward to the most this week is a reduction in racial discrimination in Issaquah, I am suffering everyday because of racial discrimination!
