This month what was good, was having some good fresh spring weather that gave me a boost that I needed as I just had alot of responsibilities on my plate and it's like when you've no time to dress up, get your hair done or throw on some make up, you feel worse 🩷

What was good this month? How do you feel you coped with the challenges this month?
This month was mid. I'm still strategizing on the coping mechanisms.
@trueconfidant123
The more coping skills we have, the better we can respond to different challenges. I hope April will be a good month for you!

Physically it was the tale of two halfs, hampered by a blood clot in my ankle to start but gradually picked it back up over the past couple of weeks to end the month on 213.7 km, down on my rolling 12 month average of 320km. Set the intention for the next 8 months, injuries allowing, to get back to 300+ a month. During the warmer weather 300-350km is my sweet spot to reduce circulation and blood clots.
Emotional control remains a focus, started working with a therapist and currentky reading a book he has recommened 'How Emotions Are Made, The Secret Life Of The Brain' by Lisa Fieldman Barrett, a pioneering psychologist and neuroscientist, not an easy read but apparently the last 3rd of the book should be more beneficial as it deals with practical ways to help with emotional control in light of recent neuroscience discoveries.

What was good this month?
Warmer and longer days, getting a lot of things done, this currently ongoing week.
How do you feel you coped with the challenges this month?
That depends specifically on the challenges. As a few examples of challenges I dealt with very recently:
- I was overwhelmed by all the overstimulation which mentally drained me entirely 3 days in a row but I stayed from start to end all 3 days without saying anything unless I was asked by someone how I was feeling.
I coped by focusing or thinking about something that made me happy as a welcome distraction.
- I was at someone’s house and was told it’d just be a few minutes to a half hour max but it was longer than that. By the time I got home it was past 10pm. I stuck through it despite all that.
I coped by laughing at whatever was being said when I thought it was funny.
- I was being judged and had my feelings dismissed and I could’ve reacted uncalmly but I didn’t. I just stayed with it until the conversation thankfully ended.
I coped by realizing I had a chance to prove what was being said to me wrong and that I was gonna do just that and what was being said was just be even more motivation for me to accomplish that.
- My sister and her husband were having a tense argument a few days ago. I felt bad believing it was bc of me or something I did or didn’t do. I kept that hidden so it wouldn’t be worse for them.
I coped by focusing on the day ahead, on whatever I needed to do, things I needed to get, and saying we don’t have to go to every place we planned to bc it’s not that important and we can go to the rest of the places when they’re back from their one week vacation which I thought made a lot more sense than just rushing through all the places which isn’t me as I take my time with anything I’m doing.
@akunknown
You managed your challenges very well. 👍 It's a good idea is to distract yourself by focusing on or thinking about something that made you happy.
@amiablePeace77
Thanks so much for saying that my friend. ❤️❤️❤️❤️

1) Spring came in on time and no harsh weather. Managed to go vote for city hall elections (my candidate lost).
2) Not so bad; There is a lot to juggle with, although the best is to juggle with a minimum of balls.. Finally got around to finding a cleaning person. Filling a calendar helps to some extent, but my handwriting is not what it used to be. I do not use my phone calendar because everyone needs the info.
What was good this month? How do you feel you coped with the challenges this month?
@amiablePeace77 For me I have 3 granddaughters but 2 I dont get to see due to how my son was wit the moms but in as far as my daughters little girl(really not all dat little no more-she is 10) and I was blessed to connect wit her several times this month. She is such a joy to be around as long as my daughters partner isnt around. My granddaughter is so polite, well mannenered, respectful and offers to help. She makes sure I dont have trouble walking she will do her best to reach out her hand to help me catch my balance. The topcs she brings up oh my gosh. Sure its in gear of her age bracket but she really gives me peace of mind and accepts me without judgement. Much is very different if my daughters partner is present. The child becomes very nervous and tight and feels she need protect her mom from being verbally abused but spending time wit her this month really let me see how much she not justmy daughter is being affected by my daughters partner. I wish there was somethin’ I could do to help but right now not only do I need help myself get housing and get my medical care started back up again but at the end of the day its up to my daughter to take the path thats healthy for her and my granddaughter. I could say and do anything but like many including where I once was so many years ago we keep returning to the same situation we are trying to get out of. She need get sick and tired of being tired and only then will things get better.
