Hi Online Therapy Community!

We are so glad you have joined us and wondered how you are all doing this week? We will hold weekly therapist check-ins on a Wednesday and invite other 7 Cups Therapists to participate too! It may be a general check-in to see how everyone is and/or it may include a short exercise for you to do during the week and please let us know how you get on!

So today, I wanted to ask how you are all doing right now? If you are not feeling happy, what is one positive step you could take to feel better today?

Feeling really burnt out and overwhelmed. I'm so busy that even anything for myself feels like a chore. I have a gymnastics competition this weekend so super stressed about that along with school work. Just not going well. Not normally in this situation so don't really know what to do.

@SystemOfWolves

It sounds like you are really busy and struggling to find the time for you which sounds very overwhelming, especially when you are feeling overwhelmed. Do you think things might feel a little easier after your gymnastics competition? What will you do to take care of yourself after the competition?

Answering this post-competition. I feel so much better now that I'm not scared of competing. I qualified for state so a huge stressor is off my plate. I am trying to complete all of my schoolwork so I have Monday off.

That is amazing that you have completed it and now you can rest a little now too :) I am glad you also have a day off too as that will help you reflect and recover.

Hey there Lisa, thank you for checking in. I have been under the weather and coughing a lot but I’m trying to take some natural remedies to sooty this cold I think I’ve contracted. Been trying to go to bed a little earlier so that my body gets the rest it needs.

You are doing so well to be working towards your own goals and listening to others at 7 Cups! Often we find that giving back to others that it helps us too!

Not doing the best this week. I am trying to focus on the positive rather than negativity. I need to focus on the good part.

That is a very positive step. What positive things can you focus on this week? It is not always easy to reframe things when we are struggling and it is great to hear that you are trying your best to focus on the positive aspects of your life too.

Today I am moving forward cautiously. Realizing that almost 30 years of anxiety and depression are truly related to a codependent relationship. Finally looking at breaking free from it. I feel liberated, scared and uncertain all at the same time. Thank you for asking.

I'm not great. I feel... sad and hopeless. And very tired.

I ordered takeaway last night thinking it would be a treat for myself. But honestly it just made me feel worse. I just want to focus on work, but I can't seem to muster the energy/concentration.

I am glad you came here to share how you're feeling and I am sorry to hear that you've been struggling. It's difficult to focus on work when our mind is not in a positive space. What is one thing that you could do to help you focus at work? I know it's tough and I really do hope that things start to feel better for you soon. I hope you're able to get some time to look after yourself this weekend too.

how you are doing right now? I am not doing well. I recognize symptoms of severe depression in myself and anxiety.

If you are not feeling happy, what is one positive step you could take to feel better today? I sent a message in a portal to my primary care provider acknowledging that I am back in a bad emotional space, that I feel stupid being back in this space and that I recognize that it is due to self neglect. The self neglect presents more so when I feel spread thin and other stressors hit me like the sudden death of my father.

Firstly, I am truly so sorry to hear about your father. Grieving is a journey and a very difficult process and one that I have learned never fully becomes complete or ends, but it does get easier. Right now, it probably doesn't feel like it'll ever get easier and there is hope. I am so sorry to hear that you are struggling right now with your mental health and grieving the loss of your parent.

That was such a positive step that you made with your primary care provider, and you were very honest about the space you are in right now. Try to be kind to yourself and acknowledge the big step that you made. Neglecting yourself happens when you are spread thin and especially like you say when you have experienced a significant and sudden loss. I hope this weekend you can do something for yourself. Please keep reaching out and take care.

IDk, today. Tired, moody, but optimistic. I miss my meds. that I was taking. and wished to have them back. the place I was getting them at has hardened the rules and I keep missing y appointments. so they rejected me, by sending a letter of discontinuance do to poor attendance. I found out I am not the only person that there doing this too. As other I know that depend on the only mental health care have fallen do to this new change. So the last 3 years has been a hardship. no one to talk too and not getting my meds. I am suffering on the light side, enough to be disabled, but apparently not serious enough to matter to them. This town is a fix your problems yourself type a town, and for the last 3-4 years they only psychologist retired. Its been going down hill ever sense. So very much feeling alone. The niche people in this town are bitter to the poor and under achieving. they simple don't want homeless or the poor to exist. the services are lacking in that disregard. Any services we do have are expiring system's that seem to look nice on the outside and have people employed, but lack the long time costumers do to mostly expiring accounts rather than satisified accounts. it feels like a money schema most of the time around here. neat and orderly. Clean and sanitized. orderly and defeated. I guess you can say I am not esquisse to it. So I am ostracized to the best of there ability. shunned. unwanted. I ether step back in line and reach for caliber that is set for me or I guess I am not supposed to be. I can't wait for my kids to have given me the empty nest syndrome so I can move away from this town. Maybe I can find me a psychologist and a place that will help me. I don't see this town getting what it needs anytime soon. As there are not people in the profession to want to work here. Its the same for doctors in the area. there ether booking months out or double booking there patients. This is a farm and senior retirement town, you would think there would be plenty a c=service for the public. but there is not. 22 months and counting. I am in hopes that my kids are graduated and of age so I can move away. Get what I need. Un-tell then I suffer ever more and keep seeking for a place I can call safe.
