How do you mentally close your workday so you don't take it home with you?
If you're not working outside, how do you unwind and relax after a tough day in the evening?

When I was working at an office, it was easy: I would decide when to leave, tidy my desk, get to the train station and open a magazine. Once home, I changed my clothes. In those days, there were no smart phones - the break was clean.

When I was a harpist, there usually was a bit of a car ride during which I would listen to the radio or chat with the other musician(s) who had come along for the same engagement. At some point, my teenage sons were my roadies and learning to drive on the way to and from "work".

These days, a mug of tea is what breaks any change of activity, maybe with a phone call to a distant friend too.

Following the breath and reading inspiring works.

@soulsings

If you are working outDOORs in a hot country? I suppose that going home to a cooler place is THE break you need!

@Fradiga I hear you and agree. I interpreted "not working outside" as "not working outside the home."

It looks like you've had some hard jobs before. Some people find it useful to do mindfulness exercises after work or to do things they love. Do you have any hobbies?

I like to walk and listen to music and completely switch off 💚

I too find walking very effective to switch off!
