I like both :) Online shopping is extremely comfortable and fast, meanwhile "real" shopping is more pragmatic. Before ordering something online, I try to check reviews first ( Skechers reviews , for example). I can avoid different pitfalls and disappointments this way.

In person. Unless it is canned or dry goods there need to be an inspection of the food to ensure it is good quality. This I can't expect someone getting a non-living wage to care about.

Canned goods are surely easier to buy online and often one can also read the labels online.
I prefer shopping online as it is more convenient however at times it can be frustrating because certain things may not be available which I don't find out about until the delivery arrives.

It would be really nice if they would have an indicator whether the item is available or not, some companies though have it.

I prefer a blend of online and in-person. Mostly just digital and electronic products online and everything else in person :)

I hear you, sometimes the offered bags are simply too big. Personally I like to see the veggies and fruit I buy to check also if there are any bad spots on them.

Somethings I prefer in a brick and mortar.
But others purely online.
With Smile Amazon, a small percent goes to an Animal Shelter (no kill). So I sure I have spent money because of that on things I really could live without. LOL.
Some of the things online is super simple and lesser expensive. But there are times it is purely fun just to go and touch and smell and be in the presence of humanity.

I like to check things I buy and also do appreciate the food tastings in the shops 😋

Costco, preCOVID, you could go in and they would have little stations all over the place where you can sample all the different 'foods'.
One isle might have cheeses, another would have prune juice, and that one over there would have meats.
I would not recommend going to costco when hungry

Covid changed a few things but I see where I live that slowly things get back to what they were in some way, like food tasting is offered again.
Tbh going shopping when hungry is never a good idea to me since I believe we simply buy more in a hungry state 😃
