I know some seem to like online i has zero use for it ....
pictures and often descriptions on items for several friends i know and i few attempts at online i have done have ended up with creating an errand to return the item .... i would rather touch and feel and judge quality in person then be disappointed
not to mention hoping it really gets here as never comes day it says and porch pirates seem to follow all the delivery people in my area.

I hear you about touching the material, it's important for me too since my skin does not like all materials.
I order online and then pickup (most of the time my husband actually does).
We were doing at least half of our groceries this way before COVID, and then when that hit were doing it that way almost exclusively.
We do a few small in person things now, but the online discount codes make it worthwhile to keep doing the online orders.
I find shopping in store uses up my 'spoons' rather quickly and my issues with my vision make online easier too. Year ago shopping in store there was a pilot with scan as you go - I liked that, I loaded all the groceries into bags as I shopped so it saved me the energy of taking everything out of the cart and putting it back in at checkouts. I also found it easier to organize my groceries in the pags that way rather than doing it at checkout. No where near me offers that anymore.

Shopping in stores with a pilot with scan as you go sounds easy, tbh I never heard about it before but would love to do it too but no store here neither doing it. I can see that online works better for you when you have to be careful with your energy levels.
Groceries in person definitely a Costco girl however Amazon I need shares in them now lol 😂… I DO order a lot at amazon weird thing my shampoo and conditioner for long hair dream lengths by L’Oréal sooo much cheaper on Amazon so I do a subscription for odd things like that lol 😆

Good to know where the place is to buy what you need. I prefer fruits or veggies in person for sure.
I would definitely not go food shopping online. When it comes to produce especially, I want to be the person who picks it out. Another thing I prefer buying in person is clothing.
All other things such as household items, books, etc. I can do with shopping online, especially since I now live in a dinky town with no shopping stores for things that I need.

It is easier and i can touch and try things making sure i know exactly what i get and don´t have to wait for shipping and bother with sending it back if i don´t like it. I´m also very picky, so by doing it myself, i can be sure i get exactly what i want and need

I can relate with touching things particularly when it's something to wear! You want to feel comfortable in it!

I like to shop in person so I can actually see the products I'm buying. Also, it's easier to see/compare options in person. A lot of the time, delivery is slow and foods aren't as fresh. However, I do shop for clothes online which is kind of strange. Sometimes, I'm just too lazy to go outside and have to try on clothes.

Living so far from any serious shopping area, I have to rely on shopping online for a lot of extra stuff. Going to a medium-size town is 45 mns of driving both ways too, which adds to pollution and time, although one can group the shopping needs and take a neighbour along too.
I'd say that 80% of my shopping needs are met locally (including food).

I like the idea of grouping for shopping. It is better for the environment to have like 2 or more people in one car than everyone taking their own car and it can be fun too!

I prefer to shop in person so I can read ingredients and take them home immediately.

I kind of like online shopping but it has a drawback that is you can not see what you are buying.
