Why is treating each other with respect important?
By treating each other with respect we overlook our differences and avoid the habit of designating those who are different than us as enemies.
How can one show respect for another person?
The most basic form of respect is to recognize that although we have widely different beliefs and personalities, we all want to be happy and to be free of pain and discontentment.

@amiablePeace77 you can show respect by always being polite, kind and supportive. To hug them when they need you, and to give them space too. To respect people's boundries and rules. And try not to make inappropriate jokes (I'm working on that one😁)

Good points Tinywhisper. Interaction with others works so much better when we're kind and polite. We do not always need to agree with what others say but we can be respectful and accept differences.

Why is treating each other with respect important? Because you never know what someone's going through and you also never know when you're going to lose someone through death or other means
How can one show respect for another person? Be nice even if the person isn't nice to you or at least try your hardest to be nice

Your respect shows someone how much you value them as a person. It helps their self esteem. It conveys that they are equal and just as important as yourself.

You can show respect by giving someone your full attention while they’re speaking, making eye contact, and listening. You can respond thoughtfully by asking them questions, showing interest in what they’re saying, and not just waiting for your turn thinking about what you want to say next. You can try to remember things that are important to them. You can make time for them. You can be aware of their boundaries.

It’s important to treat each other respectfully bc it lessens the chances of becoming enemies with each other by increasing the chances of getting along or even becoming friends with each other instead. It helps us understand the fact that it’s ok and doesn’t matter that we’re all imperfect, flawed, different don’t know everything, and that we can all learn from each other.

Yeah we definitely need to do that. We don’t do it enough. We let ourselves suffer more which is wrong.

because nobody can demand respect whilst not giving it… doesn’t work like that.
you need to earn and uphold respect, like all those you interact with.
A baseline respect is always there in initial meetings. Ultimately if respect is difficult to or not viable, show respect by walking away.
basically treat those as you wish to be treated and , hey presto the respect issue almost evaporates overnight.

Good point about walking away when showing respect feels too difficult. It can prevent much harm.
