Toughest challenge you faced
Everyone has stresses some time. Looking back at 2022
-
What did you go through last year that you thought you would be more than you could handle?
@soulsings
After 2 long and extremely stressful years, with close friends dying, my sister moving far away with her very abusive husband (which was very scary for me) eviction from our rental being sold, then had to move twice after that. My sister leaving the abusive husband with nowhere else to go but to my house. Then my diagnosis of Pancreatitis, Xmas Eve.. surgery on my wrist, the list goes on. .then when I had enough and couldn't handle any more, we were Homeless at Christmas time, with 2 kids. Not being able to find a place for the life of me. Or money for anything even, i Had to move where I could find a roof, and for that, i lost a really great job. Which in turn resulted in my car being repo'd. .
I am still so exhausted I just want to sleep for a year, with no interruption. My body is that of an 89 year old and my head is somewhere else completely. I stay up too late, sleep in to long, don't eat, eat too much. .but I'm here. Barely, but I'm here. Slowly getting over the chain of events that took my mental health to a level I didn't know was possible. And when I finally recover. . .I'll be here, but stronger and able to manage anything else that comes at me.

I lost my baby after carrying her for 22 weeks on November 30th. Then I hemorrhaged and immediately had to be taken to OR for an emergency transfusion because my placenta wouldn’t come out. I didn’t even get to say goodbye to her. When the doctors brought me back she was already gone. I found out the night before that my husband had lost his job while trying to take care of our other daughters due to my being in the hospital. I also cut off contact with my mother AND my closest friend almost immediately afterwards, but those were more of a blessing than anything honestly. In times of trouble, you really find out who your true friends and family are. Turns out I don’t have many…
@SerenityDove121 sorry for your losses. Those sound like really challenging ones.
Hope you get the support you are looking for.
@SerenityDove121
I'm so sorry to hear about the loss of your baby, my heart goes out to you ❤️ It's said that your husband lost his job whilst doing what he needed to do, taking care of your daughters. I hope coming to the site will feel like being with friends and that you feel supported here.
Thank you. It really does. <3 honestly this has been where I’ve been spending a lot of my time lately, and it’s been a breath of fresh air in comparison to other social outlets. I wish you light and love.
TW: SH. I took what I thought was my dream job. But the job responsibilities kept changing in just the first few months. The pressure became so much, the criticism was so harsh, the leadership was not helpful... I ended up so overwhelmed that I SH for the first time ever. I ended up quitting after 100 days, leaving my family of 5 with no income. It was quit, or risk harming myself or worse. I was so upset because I thought it was my dream job. There was so many red flags that I felt my license was at risk by continuing to practice there. But now my family criticizes me, for quitting, for SH, for still being depressed. It makes it worse. I need to be strong for my kids. Only I know what is best for me. I'm just dealing the best I can.
I had a very bad p*rn addiction and now I am clean haven’t watched anything in about 2-3 weeks
@soulsings I got married married last year, but my past traumas are hurting my relationship. My father was emotionally, mentally, verbally and physically abusive to his children and wife. He was the first person to call me fat, stupid and even slapped me in public because I spoke to a guy friend. My husband is a great man, but I can’t seem to stop negative .
Losing contact with my parents, fighting for custody of my daughter, and moving out of the home we made. My brother became power of attorney, had me cut off and evicted, all while fighting a custody battle with my ex-husband. Now I am staying with a friend until I can get back on my feet because I was only given 10 day notice.
Last year. alot of good and bad 2022 in january i still had bouts of vomiting often. i would just wake up in the middle of the night, feel anxious, tremble, cold sweat, vomit. after new therapy this ended so i am fine now. january 2022 it finally ended after a year. i n may 2022 i developed ptsd. and bpd. and adjustment dirorder. whole year i struggled, i still struggle. but less. it gets better. i am feeling better on a day to day basis. in 2022 i had bouts of violence. and i again got into a fight on new years eve. it was 2023. a man touched me inappropriately and when i saw him again i started beating him. he was denying it. ended up in a hospital in a foreign country. got discharged soon with new meds my boyfriend waited for me. he helped be settle and we went to nature. from then on i have been slowly healing. nature helps me more than working on my computer. humans need nature not just for physical but for mental health too. i have ptsd seizures sometimes so my episodes did get worse. but the good thig is. they are less common. i still struggle. but it hqs gotten better. since it happens less often. i don't feel as aggressive as i used to. and when i do i channel it. i don't get overwhelmed as easily. i still sometimes feel like i want to scream, punch, kick. but i don't hurt anyone or anything. in september 2022 i was hospitalized. for trying to e nd myself. and drinking. my brother developed epilepsy. it really broke me. i love my brother. a lot. i was released after a month. they keep patients for around a month since there's limited space. and they take only urgencies. it wasn't great in the hospital. there was an epidemic and the food was scarce and not very nutritious. but my family sent me food. i am thankful they did. though some patients stole my food. i also painted in the hospital. i made two paintings finished one. it helped a lot. i made bracelets too. i brought them home but lost them later. i finished one manuscript in september a few days before i was admitted. i was rejected by a publisher. i'm looking for another publisher. i don't have very much money. in 2022 i also found a job. i write for a living. it is better than before
@soulsings the toughest challenge I faced last year was not living in denial of all the bad things that have happened in my life. I usually just ignore and forget the bad (ever since I was really young) so now that I am reflecting on things I have felt very overwhelmed and heavy
@Lilahsky7
Facing what has never given attention to is hard but it also helps to process it and let go. I hope you feel better now. 💙
