When there is nothing to look forward to, it is difficult to stay motivated. I'm hoping that coming here would give you motivation to anticipate the future. The "What do I want" exercise is one way to teach your brain to concentrate on what you're aiming for rather than what you're attempting to avoid.

Thank you, I take medication that restricts me from activities that I love, limits travel and the risks will just increase with age particularly if mobility becomes an issue. Been diagnosed with PTSD, I don't have flashbacks just anxiety about the future and reocurrance.
I'll look into 'What do I want'.

What's one thing you want to explore this year?
I wanna explore why people (they know who they are bc they’re my so called family though in many ways they’re abusive) don’t see me the same way I see me. In other words I wanna know why people who expect me to be an adult see me as a child and treat me like one in every single way yet still expect adulthood from me especially when they need my help or something else from me.

I can see that this might feel frustrating! Some people see us the way that suits them best at that moment, but it does not mean we need to see ourselves the same way.
