What some things you do to help you sleep at night ? #EveryoneWelcome
I love your username! @MyHeartListens 💛
Limit screen time and not use any device at least an hour before bed time.
Listening to rain sounds and ambient sounds is quite calming too.
What helps you?
@MyHeartListens To help myself sleep at night, I turn off all of the lights and play music while I am going to sleep.

Oh I feel you, I also have trouble sleeping. I try to journal my thoughts max 1 hour before sleeping, I would also recommend guided relaxations on YT. I also tried herbal tea and applying lavender oil under my nose. Sometimes listening to ocean waves also helps me. And warm baths are great too.
I also have this little trick that helps me fall asleep, you think of a word, f.e. "snail" and for each letter try to think of every word you know.
I hope something will be useful. 😊
@StarlightEma Thank you

Feel free to let me know if something worked for you 😊
Did something help you?
To me, the most effective way is to mimic the environment as if I am living in the wild. Such as keep the lights off; playing raining, leaves shattering sounds, stream flowing; keep the air fresh and flow; arrange the quits to build a sleeping dent / pit ( similar like when you sleep in a big pregnancy pillow). Hope this helps!
@myheartlistens I enjoy meditations- ones around sleep help me. I use the Insight Timer app and use “sleep” in my search to find meditations for sleep

A warm shower, soft/soothing music, dim lights — I tell myself “It’s time to sleep now”. 😊
@MyHeartListens ok so I've been rewatching x-files lately. I found out that Mulder's voice actually helps and the moment I close my eyes with him in my ear, it gets easier to sleep.
It's random but I'm sharing because I got surprised at how it actually worked.
@Random28
I wonder if David has narrated any Audiobooks? Maybe you can listen to him reading you a classic.
@TovaCares76 sorry it took me a whole year to see this (bad joke, but I had to), but holy cow you're brilliant. I don't know why I didn't think of this earlier.
@Random28
I only thought of it because I listened to Jake Gyllenhaal narrate To Kill a Mockingbird, and I don't think I really paid attention to the book. ;)
@TovaCares76 thanks to you I found some stuff and I was knocked out before my brain even grasp what he was saying😳 though his 90s voice hits just right, I'm still appreciative of today :') hahahah
Oh! You did?! It must've been so cool... I was a kid when it was momentarily on tv here, I mostly watched it on DVDs (uncle's collection) and I must have only watched season 1, maybe 2. Personally it kinda shaped my supernatural path and I thought of giving it a try now as an adult.
@Random28
btw, when the X-Files was on network TV, I was a huge fan. I went to two conventions and met a bunch of people. It was great! :)
@MyHeartListens Read before sleep

I have a whole "sleep hygiene" routine, which came from necessity after years and years of sleep problems.
I try my hardest to stay out of my bedroom as much as possible. That keeps it as my "sleep haven".
At bedtime, I go in, turn on my lamp, turn the blankets down, spray my linens with relaxing linen spray, and put on my pajamas. I go make some tea, take my medication, do some knitting or reading, then brush my teeth, do skin care, and go to my room. I'll light a candle, do some journaling and prayer, finish my tea, turn out the lights and I'm ready for sleep. Without this whole ritual, I'm lost. So the whole thing travels with me too. :)
I make herbal teas and tinctures, and they are Very effective lol
