Caring for your Emotional Needs
Hello everyone, I hope you're all having a good start of the week ❤️
How well are you taking care of your emotional needs at the moment?
Is there something that needs to be improved?
Not a great start to the week. Very overwhelmed and feeling alone again. Trying to remember that there are people there for me and remembering to breathe. I just need to feel in control again
What a wonderful thread @Amiablepeace77. I hope the start of your week has been amazing and you are looking after yourself too.
Overall, I am taking care of my emotional needs but I think I could improve by going out to walk more before the cold weather comes. What a lovely check-in thread!
Kind of been 50/50 going back and forth between feeling good and accomplished and then just starting to think of stuff and down hill I go.
Thank you for the lovely post and for checking in.

I believe that I am taking care of my emotional needs quite well. How about you?
Is there something that needs to be improved?
I feel as if I react more overwhelmingly whenever I hear bad news. Maybe being oversensitive? I become sad to the extreme level if something goes against what I planned. So, I am working on calming myself more.
Trying to plan and think positive but things turn to nothing new as my anger is taking control of all other emotions ....
Refusal and impatience are wasting my time and energy
@asmaaabuelnaga24 I hear you. Anger is not easy to deal with.
I find what I need to do is not paste over the angry thoughts, but observe them carefully and learn how the trigger works. EX the wife says to husband "You never do anything around this house." Then the husband immediately feels they are being attacked and defends themselves.
Another way this could go is the husband could take a deep breath and do self talk: "I guess they are angry and exaggerating so arguing with them will get nowhere." Let me try this. "I hear you dear, and I am sorry you feel so disappointed. I would like to invite you to give me a list of all the projects you want to get done and we can talk about it after I have time to review the list."
Since this is hypothetical I am not sure of the outcome, but the one thing husband did is stop and gather themselves. Then the husband validated their feeling even if they knew it was not completely factual. He also put the ball in her court by asking for a list of projects and time to review them. Delay is an important way to head off anger.
