I have long been a public musician (harpist), so this answer is the easiest. I particularly volunteered in rehab hospitals and hospice care.
Sometimes also..... you might have been much appreciated and never realized it until years after. That's the best feeling!

What was one of the moments you felt most appreciated by others?
It would have to be the first time I was able to save someone's life. There's no better feeling when you do this and the appreciation of the person and their family makes it all worth it. That feeling can carry you through a lot of not so great things that happen in your everyday life for quite some time. ❤️
@xandia I hear you. That must be a wonderful feeling.
I wonder if it also must instill an appreciation of how precious life is and how fleeting where we can be gone in an instant if circumstances are unfavorable.
Simple kindness is enough
A former co-worker of mine once said everything I do is beautiful. This was when I was family-finding for foster kids in San Francisco. I'd never received such loving words, and they meant sooo much. I was reminded of her, and the love she so beautifully expressed, today. Just one moment like that can give someone a reason to hold on through depression, loneliness, grief or abuse.
I hope I can share love like that with others... Hope I find more authentic and openhearted folks in my life soon.
