Traumatic Experiences Community Daily Check-In Sunday January 14th 2018
Good Morning Survivour Family, How are you alle doing today? Compassionate is currently under attack by Magik Nose Goblins, and will be in a bit later as she gains ground in the fight.
Doom Happens, Iss Lifa (this is life), but so don't Beautiful Sunrises. When we're under attack by some kind of woe, any kind of woe, it's easy to lose sight of the simple things. It's alle too easy to let the doom wash over us. It's never about how much we can take, it's alle in how we take it. Somehow I have even in my darkest of times always seen the world through the eyes of a child. I could always make rainbows through my tears and smile to myself it could be done. I don't know, I guess there's something inside me that naturally seeks happines and fun. I am a woman with a traumatic history, but it's just that, History. I refuse to hold it to my heart every moment of the day.Yes I work on my issues every day, but after that round is over I walk away from it. I refuse to let it become whom and what I am, and I refuse to let it Define and guide my Destiny. I get asked so often after someone reads my bio how I can manage to keep going and thrive, I don't know. I guess I never stop playing for one, I'm still much a child at heart. I am a Free person and I have dreams. No matter whom or what tries to take my soul and my dreams from me I Refuse. I live my life the way I was raised no matter how much it doesn't fit in with the world around me. I live my soul and I live my dreams.
How are you alle today? We're alle here to find ways to be free of our woes. When is the last time you played in the mud and sang a simple song? Even Ravens are known to fly high in the sky with a long flat piece of bark and use it like a surfboard to ride the wind just for the fun of it. Drop us a post and let us know how you are. Speak on your woes or Successes. Tell us of your best day of playing and having fun. This is a safe space and it belongs to YOU.

I'm doing better this weekend, I think. It was a difficult week but I'm just trying to keep going and let myself feel what I'm feeling. I'm making little efforts to try new things and it does help. Hope you all are doing ok
Oh my, Im not sure how to answer your question there Raven!! I can be pretty childish at times lol. The last time I wore a really long dress (some day last week, I dont remember) I spun around in it because it made me happy. But like, I also have a playlist I love on my phone that includes songs from some Disney movies lol. And every time Ive visited a castle/palace. The first time my brother was like omg, yes, its a castle, calm down! Hahaha. We dont have those here, its cool to me 🤷🏼♀️😜 When we climbed to the top of the Frauenkirche in Dresden, DE, and then to the top of the Köln Cathedral. Not gonna pretend I didnt complain the whole way up the one in Köln though. I was SO over steep spiral staircases by that point!! 😂 Looking out over Paris from the Eiffel Tower was pretty awesome too. Making our own whiskey at the Jameson Distillery in Dublin. Visiting concentration camps that my family survived, that Ive read and seen so much about and it was like omg Im actually here...omg... Theres this super cool museum in Zürich that we spent a whole day in without even realizing it had been that long! While Im on museums, theres also a super cool one in Dublin and a super cool one in Dresden. Every time I manage to accomplish anything I get really excited. So, also, when I cleaned my bathroom floor, and every time Ive gone in there since and looked at it. The bar is set pretty low for what makes me happy 😜😂
@BeeLeigh You are a Great Adventurer Bee
I lived in Dublin from about 5 1/2 till I was 12, yep, many cool places to go. I slept in the Newgrange tomb a few times as a kid when I would run away.
@Raveninthelabrynth
Thanks for the encouraging words, Raven. I feel a positive outlook could do me good. Last night after i tried to sleep again I felt the muse tickle my ear and strum my heart for a rhythm or two. So i guess you could say its something fun to do cuz i like poetry. I wrote this poem. it was inspired by my hair lol. but its more than that, and i guess not super dooper happy.
Auburn
By Chivalrous Nymph
Unique to the touch;
is the strength of lush,
gentle shades all unfurled.
The phrases one will speak
holds true to the feat
of the nature of their world
for after the wind dies
they see through our tears
that within our ribs, fires rise
despite our fears,
holding up our crinkly dry skies
and scorched tendrils lick our ears
sedated from beseeching our havens
denied, but crimson bonded and tethered
inside we are burning out the contagions
to collect this sacred heart all weathered
for if the tide thats churning
of my mind ever turning
could ignite this damn place.
Then I'd seek your comforting embrace
Because then, like my hair,
we may just all burn
@Sk1ttles
chivalrous nymph is a pen name i used to use btw.. idk why i out that there too. it was familiar i guess
@Sk1ttles I'm glad you finally settled in and found some peace. Nice poem, we're just gonna sign you up now for the next poetry event.
@Raveninthelabrynth
sounds like fun, and im glad you liked it.
Hello all,
I have finally found a functional medicine doctor.
I do not know how I am going to afford it, or how any of all of this is going to work out, but I am having faith. And hope.
I need a lot of money, and I need (in a few months) a job in Raleigh.
Heya everyone!
It's just another frustrating day ... having woken up late with a feeling of hopelessness and pressure clouds looming over my head as assignment deadlines are near.
I just don't understand why is it so hard to bounce back past regrets and have a positive change :(
@Raveninthelabrynth I like being childish too. It's nice and freeing. I do a lot of work on social media, so it's fun because I made a lot of music videos on Instagram. I mess around and get to be playful and silly on there. It's a really good stratagey to feeling better.
I've been really confused lately. My honey told me yesterday that he thinks my new habits are gross. He said I've been leaving the bathroom door open...but I don't do that! In the shower this morning, I noticed two bruises on my leg, and they are pretty recent. I'm starting to wonder if I'm sleeping walking, you guys. I already deal with really terrible, terrible dreams, and my honey says I have been talking in my sleep a lot more this past year.
I dunno. I just try to be happy and chill when I'm awake. That's the best I can do.
@Raveninthelabrynth
to LONG to read it...
Idk I just hate how much impolsive and overemotional I am
On one hand want to be independet but than feel alone and unhappy
I TOO MUCH feel burned out some of times
@conscientiousPineapple1782 Hugs Pineapple.
Sorry the post was too long, but I hope you read the part about Compassionatelisteners battle against The Magik Nose Goblins. It's exciting lol. ok not really. Hugs hon
@Raveninthelabrynth
thanks
I miss mom lately a lot.Painfully a lot.And I'm feeling very low overall, don't want to pull myself together and pretend that all is ok, that I want to take care of myself, live like nothing has happened and so.I'm tired.Very tired.Sometimes I just don't get why it all had to happen and how I lost so much.I feel bad and sometimes I just need to allow myself to wallov in it all so I do.I also don't want any support because it just isn't helping in moments like this.Mourning the life lost finally, removed denial.Must hold on.
@Morfo66 I'm so sorry for your loss Morph. And ya, there is no quick way through this woe but to just go through it. We alle love and care for you dearly hon. Please don't hesitate to reach out, we're alle here for you.
@Morfo66
You have been through so much. You have experienced losses and pain that many adults have never had to find their way through. You are correct and you absolutely have the right to grieve, to ask why and express how deeply you are feeling all of this right now.
Honestly, I have never been a fan of the fake it until you make it philosophy. Most of us are very adept at that particular mindset. So, your fatigue makes perfect sense to me. You expressed yourself beautifully and honestly. It seems like being so open about your pain is not at all wallowing. It is being very authentic. I would give anything to be able to take the pain away from so many people here. I know that it is not my place as they deserve to find their own voice. What I can do is offer to walk beside them or just let them know that I am willing to quietly be there with them as they find their way.
I will walk beside you on your path or sit quietly in the background when you need solitude. The important thing is to know that you are not alone.
With love and compassion ❤️
@Compassionatelistener108
Hard days are toughest thing and coming to terms with all of this but I got trough this day, I allowed myself to cry me eyes out and got back up already.Self-care after my hardest moments instantly helps me feel better and makes me feel like I'm in control even during moments like this so that's my secret weapon how I get back up so quickly.Your compassion is very heart warming and so is your want to be around those in need.Thanks for all you do for me and others, it's making so much difference!:)
@Morfo66
I am so glad you allowed yourself to feel all of those emotions. It is wonderful that you have a plan in place as well.
I am sorry for your loss and the pain you have endured. If anyone can find their way, I believe it will be you.
Seeing people heal is a gift and an inspiration.
Be well and keep being you!
@Compassionatelistener108
Thanks! <3
I had a PTSD episode for the past several hours.
It was awful. I was really convinced it was real. I snapped out of it, thank goodness. I am shaken. It was a very dark place that I went to.
I do not have a diagnosis of PTSD, but the doctor did tell me I had PTSD-like episodes.
It was particularly scary because I have gotten better about being able to identify them, so worries are spinning through my head such as "Am I doing something wrong? Do I have serious depression?" Whereas the calmer part of my brain is reassuring myself that "backtracking" is a normal part of any learning process with any new skill. (Feels like backtracking). My sister was really sweet. She said "Maybe not so much backtracking as you just missed this one-- but you're capable of identifying it!"
Can I have some support and some hugs please?
@singercrystalspirit
There are many things that can help you stay present. You almost always catch it which is amazing. I have no doubt that you will put your heart and mind into healing from this episode as well.
We are here for you anytime you need to talk or need one zillion safe hugs!
I cant believe I almost missed out! 😳
Hugs, hugs, hugs and one more hug ❤️❤️❤️ Be well singer. Let us know how you are doing when you feel comfortable 🌻
@Compassionatelistener108
Thank you
I have a strong pull in my heart that I need to do music ( -- and art -- dance -- expression -- ) and I don't know how.... I don't know how to get those things into my life........

I love you guys.
I am doing much better today. I recovered, and I reached out to more and more people, and it's going well, and I am am riding the ride of positivity... no "dark side" coming my way today.
Hey. Hmm. Maybe I went through such a dark time because... maybe it's because I was so bright. Maybe the Force needed balancing within me.
Maybe if I ask my brain small little questions, it will start to think of answers as to how I can get music and singing and dance and art and more and more and more joy and freedom of expression into my life.
@singercrystalspirit
That sounds like a wonderful idea. Something tells me you are exceptional in those areas. I am happy you are feeling better 💛🌻
There are several ways to get involved with community theater, classes or just do your own thing if you want to play with the combination. It has always helped me to be around likeminded individuals. I met so many artists in the SW (US). They were open and loved showing those who showed a genuine interest in how their ideas began with a journal entry and ended with a stunning work of art.
You may be surprised at how much they are willing to share. It is certainly one way to seek inspiration.
Can you tell I am a fan? Wishing you the best! 🌻
@singercrystalspirit Much Love Singer (((HUGE HUGS)))
Hey, do you know if soy sauce goes bad?
@Raveninthelabrynth
Thank you :):):):):):)
Lol yes, I think it does go bad, but only after a long time, or if it's been left unrefrigerated.
@singercrystalspirit And I'm sorry for your attack. It's good that you are beginning to identify it. Now you can learn the ways to avoid or shut it down.
@Raveninthelabrynth
Thank you :)))))))
Yes, I would like to learn more about that...
@singercrystalspirit *hugs* Deep breaths. No matter what, singer, you're safe, I promise. ❤️
@melliotm
Thank you :))))))))
I believe you.
@singercrystalspirit
Mellio speaks the truth Singer. Deep breaths, find things to help you ground yourself in the present and above all ... slow and steady pace that allows you to process 💛

Hey everyone i have been doing much better recently, i reached out to some people and i feel lighthearted. I'm smilling and laughing more. However, i noticed that whenever i woke up at around 7AM, I would get panic attack/feeling of anxiety.Again, this is improving each day as it doesnt last as long as previous days. Before sleeping i would be fine, peaceful but waking up its like an automatic reaction. I have learned to expect it as a "morning routine". What is this reaction and how do i manage it? is this normal?
@intuitiveFarm3142 That's wonderful to hear Farm. Keep up the awesome work :)
@Raveninthelabrynth thank you so much
@intuitiveFarm3142
I would tell you if I knew. xo. Someone lovely here will be able to help you in the direction of figuring it out, I do know that.
@singercrystalspirit i am hopeful though that things will get better soon and i can manage my traumatic experience better
@intuitiveFarm3142
Hi intuitive,
I am so happy for your success. Laughing, smiling, feeling upbeat and having fewer episodes of anxiety throughout the day and into the evening is absolutely amazing!
I hear you concerning the anxiety you feel first thing in the morning. I wish I could provide you with a definitive answer about the cause. There are so many variables that it is truly impossible to pinpoint under the circumstances.
There are some things that may help available for your review on the site. It has ideas like practicing deep breathing techniques, changing your morning routine slightly to determine if it is a generalized feeling or has become a habitual response, examining what types of thoughts you are having during the periods of anxiety. Are they related? Are they realistic or does your mind race through every possible outcome of the day?
I wish that I could be of more help to you. I hope you understand that it would be irresponsible of me to make assumptions. If you have a therapist, my guess is that he or she would be able to walk you through this fairly quickly.
Again, I want to place more emphasis on your success. Dont forget to take the time to really appreciate the hard work you have done to feel so much better. Congratulations! 🎉 💛😉
@Compassionatelistener108 thank you for your thoughts
i researched online and saw some articles that says low blood pressure in the morning can cause anxiety, i myself do have low blood pressure but i guess since it is quite recent (since the traumatic event happens) that my mind is just not completely at ease yet. like i might be still thinking about it subconciously before i sleep so when i wake up it all came out. I read that other people are in similar situation as i am so i try to follow their tips to manage it better.
