Today s is global cat day.... who would have thought that?
i personally love cats. my neighbours cat always visits us and he s so so beautiful with grey fur and green/yellow eyes! And he s always there for me and helps me when im not feeling good.

I have 2 dogs. Walking them everyday helps me get exercise and makes sure I get outside. My little dog is very bonded to me and doesn't really like anyone else as much, although she tolerated my son and daughter. My dogs are definitely a blessing during my journey.
Today is an okay day. I'm babysitting my granddaughter and she keeps me focused.

i certainly think they can pets are very intuitive to pick up on how we feel and will do anything to try cheer us up again

used to have a dog thats her in my pic , would love another but got family trying to stop me practically control me
My pets help me a lot. My cat sleeps with me every night, and she has the softest fur. When i need grounded i play with her fur. She has trust issues and doesnt really let anyone else touch her. So she understands how i feel. People didnt respect her boundaries either. But I do, so she lets me in.
My doggie is another story. I take her everywhere with me that i can. We walk around town and go to the store. She is big but so gentle, she gives me hugs and they dont scare me like they do with people. When my days are bad like today, i keep my dog close. but she seems to know anyways.
I also have another cat hes a little boy and hes 1 and a handful. He showed up as kitten and just decided to stay. Hes a stinker but he loves all people. He will smother you in his love its a bit obnoxious at times lol.
Other than that, just have to get through today anand i have therapy tomorrow. Hopefully i can sort out some of the self harm and eating disorder thoughts there. I need things to calm down soon, i dont know how much longer i can go like this

i have my cat he is my baby he helps me but he is stubborn and doesnt come and see me all the time. i have been pretty awful and depressed i cried with seeing my therapist i just wanted to die ...its complicated

My kittens help :) they triggered me when I first got them but on bad days for both me and my boyfriend they make us smile :)

I do think that pets can be very helpful for trauma recovery as long as the person can take care of them well...or maybe have someone else that can when they aren't able to.
I ran into that issue myself. I have alters that refuse to do anything with the pets I have had in the past. I have tried dogs, birds and guinnea pigs. It would be hard to choose an animal if I could have anything I wanted...I love the idea of having several dfferent types.
