Traumatic Experiences Community Daily Check-in Thursday 14th June 2018
Hello lovely trauma family
You know how songs come to you, and often when you need them. While reading Tuesday's check in when lovingBanana said that kids songs were what they liked, was thinking about how we find comfort and inspiration in these familiar songs. What comes to mind for you?
For me "One day at a Time" by George Hamilton !V is one of these. He sang this at a Billy Graham crusade,
"Just give me the strength
To do every day what I have to do.
Yesterday's gone, sweet Jesus
And tomorrow may never be mine.
Lord help me today, show me the way,
One day at a time.'
How is your day going? Do you have you a song/s significant for you? Or pop in to say hi! Love to hear from you. This is your space and a safe place.x
@rozie
I have lots of songs that are significant to me for different reasons.
At the moment Basket Case by Greenday is reasonating strongly with me. Haha it makes me feel better while im feeling like im all over the place.
The song Give a reason by P!nk used to make me cry because it reminded me of my ex. As did The Little Lion Man by Mumford and sons.
Any song from linkin parks albulm, Hybrid theory reminds me of my teens, I used to have that album on repeat on the bad days.
Oasis - Wonderwall reminds me of the good times I had on my travels
The song Why does it always rain on me by Travis always reminds me of my school days.
My go to track to feel better is Shake it out by Florence and the machine also
She will be loved by Maroon 5
❤
Today is going ok. Just having some anxiety issues working on getting those under control. The songs Face It and I'll Keep On by N.F. speak to me right now.
@RedHawk6547
I listened to those two songs just now. I know that you WILL "Keep On" and you will shine brighter and brighter as you do. And your daughter SEES that tii and I know she must be so very proud of her Mom. You ARE "Facing It"...even when it feels so daunting; like today. I'm proud of you too! 🎼🎶❣💓⛅🌞🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟💖
My songs today are "Wild Hearts Can't Be Broken" and "Glitter "both by P!nk (a.k.a Alecia Moore). The first is where I'm At. The second ia ..part nostalgia partially a dream of hope of what could be.

Hi.
On a different day I'd be all over this. Because music is one of the best things ever; and lyrics can be so very strong!
For today though, hi. ~ Platy
I feel like I am being raped 24/7 like he is holding me down on top of me even thou no one is in the room. Distraction isn't working anymore and I don't know what to do.
Does that child feel at all?
Is she scared and hurting
Or does she blank the horror out
Cos its too disconcerting
Does she know its not her fault
Or does she take the blame?
Does she know its wrong that she
Should carry it as shame
How does that child bear the hurt
And cope with all that strife
A burden that she cant put down
To carry all her life
How could they have thought it right
To use her as their whore
How could they ignore the fact
That child she matters more
