What keps you strong?
Hello everyone! I am a new forum supporter here and this is my first thread/post as one. Very happy to be part of this community. I hope you are doing great and that you are taking care of yourself and others.
For today, I wanted to ask you just one simple (or to someone not that simple) question.
What kept you going through a hard time?
Explain: Tell me what kept you strong and who supported you then. What was the most helpful way?
Or if you are going through hard times now:
What keeps you going?
Who puts a smile on your face and what is making you stronger every day.
I didnt want to post some long-a** thread to bother you as this is my first time writing something like this.
I hope we will have fun and that this community will somehow help you! Thank you for giving me this opportunity.
Elena xoxo

@elizabethunter
I think you have done a great job for this to be your first forum thread
. Good job.
What keeps me strong is hoping tomorrow will be better or that tomorrow comes. another opportunity to get things in better array.
What kept you going through hard times?
At my lowest point, the only thing keeping me from doing anything dangerous was wanting to see the people I was mentoring and helping achieve what they'd been working so hard for. I knew if I left I would never be able to see them succeed and earn what they deserved, so I decided to stay until I could. At that point, this was almost a year away, so it really helped keep me afloat for that year. Even though the year came and went, and I still didn't get better, I never did do it. Sometimes, life is just hard, but I guess one reason is all I need to stay
@honestpanda81
Yes! Well said! I am sorry you had to go through difficult time, but its great mentoring kept you strong. Life does send a lot of challenges and it is hard to stay strong. In which are you a mentor?
@elizabethunter
Thank you, I was mentoring a group of young teens for a competition they were going for. They did outstandingly well, and were champions on both the zonal and national level. I didn't get to attend their international competition, but I'm glad I was around to mentor them all the way to the end
@honestpanda81
Wow thats amazing! And they were in competetion about what? Chemistry, biology or something else?
@elizabethunter
It was a biology competition!
@elizabethunter Thank you for being a part of this community. I think you made such a thoughtful post
What keeps me going is hoping that the next day will be better and my dog
Health food and nice sleep
@Manu2824
I meant healthy food and nice sleep
@elizabethunter
I honestly don't know what keeps me going however it is a very good question to think about.
I go through this rollercoaster of daily ups and downs at the moment but what seems to be getting me back on track every single time is the thought of how my mother will feel if I won't get back on track as well as my work, colleagues and studies.
@elizabethunter
What keeps me going? Honestly, the fact that my fiance has been through the same type of trauma before and got through it, and he says he sees good potential for progress in me. I also don't wanna give up until I've achieved my 3 life goals i've wanted for a long time: 1. have a happy, loving marriage 2. be able to help people by becoming a counselor (working on it) 3. get a dog. In my experience, saying "I'm not ready to give up yet" helps a lot more than commiting to "I'll never give up", so those goals keep me going for now, and later I'll have new goals, and so on and so forth :) I want to get better, it'll just take time
Allowing myself to experience my emotions and go through them is essentially what motivates me to be strong :)
@PeacefulMind1216
Thats a great way of motivation.
Thank you! @elizabethunter
