Hello everyone! I am a new forum supporter here and this is my first thread/post as one. Very happy to be part of this community. I hope you are doing great and that you are taking care of yourself and others.

For today, I wanted to ask you just one simple (or to someone not that simple) question.

mailWhat kept you going through a hard time?

Explain: Tell me what kept you strong and who supported you then. What was the most helpful way?

Or if you are going through hard times now:

mailWhat keeps you going?

Who puts a smile on your face and what is making you stronger every day.

I didnt want to post some long-a** thread to bother you as this is my first time writing something like this.

I hope we will have fun and that this community will somehow help you! Thank you for giving me this opportunity.

Elena xoxo

What kept you going through hard times?

At my lowest point, the only thing keeping me from doing anything dangerous was wanting to see the people I was mentoring and helping achieve what they'd been working so hard for. I knew if I left I would never be able to see them succeed and earn what they deserved, so I decided to stay until I could. At that point, this was almost a year away, so it really helped keep me afloat for that year. Even though the year came and went, and I still didn't get better, I never did do it. Sometimes, life is just hard, but I guess one reason is all I need to stay

Yes! Well said! I am sorry you had to go through difficult time, but its great mentoring kept you strong. Life does send a lot of challenges and it is hard to stay strong. In which are you a mentor?

@elizabethunter

Thank you, I was mentoring a group of young teens for a competition they were going for. They did outstandingly well, and were champions on both the zonal and national level. I didn't get to attend their international competition, but I'm glad I was around to mentor them all the way to the end

@Manu2824

I also love food! Because of healthy food we can feel healthy inside, which is great. Being exhausted can cause our mood to be a little, well, negative. Food and sleep is what makes us human beings and what makes us not only strong, but alive.

I honestly don't know what keeps me going however it is a very good question to think about.

I go through this rollercoaster of daily ups and downs at the moment but what seems to be getting me back on track every single time is the thought of how my mother will feel if I won't get back on track as well as my work, colleagues and studies.

Yeah, i understand that. Its very nice of you not only to think about yourself, but about your mother too. I hope this rollercoaster will end soon and that everything will be fine.

What keeps me going? Honestly, the fact that my fiance has been through the same type of trauma before and got through it, and he says he sees good potential for progress in me. I also don't wanna give up until I've achieved my 3 life goals i've wanted for a long time: 1. have a happy, loving marriage 2. be able to help people by becoming a counselor (working on it) 3. get a dog. In my experience, saying "I'm not ready to give up yet" helps a lot more than commiting to "I'll never give up", so those goals keep me going for now, and later I'll have new goals, and so on and so forth :) I want to get better, it'll just take time

I am so sorry to hear that. It is very hard to be strong, I understand that. If you would like to talk more, feel free to text me. Why would you ever say that? There is always a light at the end of dark tunel.
