healing and change in how talk
this month not long ago my therapist brought up this and well i see her point but also am scared
she said at this stage of my healing journey i need to focus on being a full person not fulling we and using i for me this scary not sure why as for last few months i been the one out typing yes other within will talk in my head when i am out and give input but they not fully out much any more so she said i need to see how far i healed and think more of self being identity of body self more then seeing self as pieces and using we and us she stated is making me stay stuck in that way of thinking
yes the other in system still there but not as active as was for most my life so she think i need to break the habit of saying we and us use i and me i not sure why this even scary to me but it is right now
not sure if any other system here has dealt with this and could help even maybe help me understand why this so scary for me
it seem stupid that it scary to me in my thinking but the emotion is there
@stormieandpaws I wish I checked the forums and seen your post here before I tagged you in the weekly beacon thread. I owe you an apology because I said "y'all". Please forgive me, because going forward I will respect what you are trying to work on and accomplish here. I will be more mindful of my wording. 💙
Anyway, I need you to know that I'm proud of you. It may certainly feel scary doing this and referring to yourself in first person especially when we/us has been a part of your identity. But I have no doubt that you have grown so much and overcome so much in your life. And even if it feels scary or strange right now, I think you're off to a great start!
Did you realize the number of times you said I/me? I noticed and I'm proud of you. You're doing great already embracing it! 🤗👐🫂
I pay attention to language used but I'm just guessing here..
Maybe you are fearful because it's an extra layer of vulnerability, with nothing to hide behind?
Outrightly vocalising your fears....... I feel..... I think....... I believe........
You don't know who will agree or disagree, if someone will be unkind or argumentative back?
But it's brave all the same and sounds like you are continually working on yourself and trying to get better :)
@stormieandpaws yaaa u r right
@stormieandpaws
This change can be scary. Take it slowly <3 you can do it. I believe in you, Paws.
@Remina
thank you i know my therapist is right just hard at times to even see how far i have came in healing too she 1st therapist i had that has really got me and worked with me too so think that why a lot changed in my healing since i moved and within the last think 3 years i had her before that most of ones i had just were about now not really healing more meds and like not talking about the past wich was not really helpful most my help before her was help online from a person that a social worker but still had to go to community mental health offline just they was not helpful
so yeas lots of changes since i moved in may 2017 yes was healing before that healed a lot before that but now a new layer of healing due to i safe now fully
I’m so glad you feel safe ! It sounds like you have made a lot of progress. That’s not easy, again so proud of you
@Remina

have learned a lot since i started my healing journey way back in like 2002 it started even before i left my now ex hubby then was mostly online found 2 wonderful therapist that was running a chat they helped me so much even before i got help offline they did it for free then met my dear friend who also a therapist but due to being disabled she could no longer work so she made a chat gruop online and has helped many for free meet her right after i left my now ex hubby
so along the way i been blessed a lot with help online and some offline
@stormieandpaws
That is great, I am glad you have had so much help. <3
