C-PTSD
I don't see many people on here posting about this, as it's relatively a newer term to PTSD, just a more severe case of it. Does anyone here struggle with this, and if so, how have others dealt with certain aspects of theirs and has anyone ever truly overcome it? I do feel it's changeable despite what psychologists & others say. I believe a lot of things are able to be changed even though we're told otherwise. I don't listen to everything I hear & see, I form my own opinions by the things that I know, work on, and do my own research. Please tell me what you're going through, have gone through, what works, or has worked for you. Thank you everyone, and have a wonderful day!

You are right, Ive not heard of this, so I'd be interested in learning about other people's experiences, to be best able to know how to support them, thanks for sharing 💕💜
@Amanda84 You're very welcome. C-PTSD (Complex Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) is a much more severe form of the original. I've been struggling with it for a while, without realizing I actually suffered from this. I never thought I was a person who could suffer from this, and for a long time, I've had all the symptoms all along. I just thought I was crazy, but there's a name for it. I recently purchased some stuff on it, but haven't dug into it yet, but will be. It's a huge part of my healing process. But, as you know, it's complex because all types of other things are involved and it takes some serious therapy to break the chains of it, as well as looking into yourself, believe in yourself, and wanting to adapt to the changes that need to be made. I know I can do it, I'm already more than half healed! I've been working on myself for a long time now, but you ever notice how we save the longest & hardest things for last, because there's just too much? Well, yes, here we are, lol.
@mlwhit83
I get you, the first step is often the hardest, sometimes it can be hard to put in the work, but if it leads to you being happy and healthy, then it'll be worth it 💜
@Amanda84 Absolutely, and I'll always, always invest in myself, no matter the cost!

we know the term we been told it between PTSD and DID as it not same as either be but it is very hard much harder then just PTSD it had a old label that was sometimes called nos disassociation but it not fit any one box like so many things can not put in a box as we each different each heal differently too
we have DID but took years to get right DX too but for us that alone helped a lot gave us hope as we work on healing
what helped us a lot id meditation but also learning to be kind to self not putting how a adult thinks onto the child too as when one does that a lot of the time it adds to the shame blaming self and even thinking we was so stupid for not telling at the time so we went and got information on how a child mind a lot different from a adult mind this information has helped us a lot it show that we was thinking only as a normal child would we was reasoning as a child does too this gave us insight on a lot of why we acted as we did too
yes we each can heal and well this a healing journey that only each of us can take in our own way
@stormieandpaws I'm sorry but having a hard time reading your message. I don't have DID, I understand you do and that would be very difficult to manage.
@mlwhit83
what we was trying to say is they use to put the C-PTSD under like a hat with dissertation but that they say it did not fit into any other they not given it a new DX as C-PTSD that make better since then what they use to do with people who had the C-PTSD so now it no longer lumped into the other DXs as it kinda use to be
our first DX was PTSD then they said DD-NOS the one that DD-NOS is what people use to be given as DX before they added the C-PTSD so that it better now as far as what they did with the DXs
that was kinda what we was saying hope make since now
@mlwhit83. Do you consider this an accurate description?
https://my.clevelandclinic.org/health/diseases/24881-cptsd-complex-ptsd#symptoms-and-causes
@mlwhit83 Yes, I relate and was diagnosed with C-PTSD. I didn't know the term until a few years ago when I had a mental health emergency. Some confuse C-PTSD with BPD, Bipolar disorder or other mixed personality disorders.
What worked for me was, of course, educating myself and my support system about it. Changing my risky behaviors, one by one, and taking good care of every aspect of my health (especially the neglected aspects!). Therapy, staying away from abusive relationships, exercise, diet, journaling, working boundaries, and a lot of grieving...
You're not alone. C-PTSD might be a lot more common than people realize. But it can get better.
I do have c-ptsd,but iam not over it yet , iam still suffering so i can't help with advices
I too feel left out ....ptsd is such a different topic than any depression or trauma.i tried so much to find help every where I just can't
