What is your 'comfort' movie?
A comfort movie has many different interpretations for different people.
Most commonly, Comfort movies are the ones that a person can turn to when they are having a bad day and need an escape from everything for a while. Basically, any movie that brings you comfort.
You can have many comfort movies. They also do not necessarily need to be movies, they can be TV shows as well.
What are some of your favorite comfort movies?
The Fountainhead with Gary Cooper based on the Ayn Rand novel.
The Lakehouse with Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock based on the Korean movie "El Mare".
@Swordpsalm
The Fountainhead is one of my favorite books, and I agree the movie is wonderful.
I enjoyed the recent three-part Atlas Shrugged movie, though the production was a bit of a mess, with different actors in each of parts 1, 2, and 3 playing the main characters. They made it on a budget, and filmed each of the three parts when funds permitted. Still a great effort though.

@usedItUp
Yes, I have Atlas Shrugged in novel and trilogy movie formats.
@Swordpsalm
YES!, The Lake House! Another awesome movie. Love the premise, the struggle and the end is so so satisfying. Keanu and Sandra work well together.

Love this movie! I've seen it so many times plus the sound track is great especially the song Dawn
I prefer shows over movies, one that is my comfort is actually a kdrama called secret garden. No one’s ever heard of it unless they’re into that genre, but it is one of the best plots I’ve seen in a show (in my opinion). It was my first kdrama too so I could be biased, but I’ve rewatched it 6 or 7 times. Brings back nostalgia of simpler times.
a runner up is Jane the virgin :)
@comfortableNight4463 Interstellar!
@rainyday02
Interstellar! - I love the part where he's in the outer space library. And who could keep a dry eye at the ending... His daughter telling him she didn't want him to watch her die, and that 'she' was waiting for him. I love movies with deep, heart felt conflict that ends in emotional triumph.
What I really love about interstellar is that it is supposed to be a purely scientific film but the point is not something you can scientifically describe, like love, something that 'transcends space and time' and that has no scientific constraints. The soundtrack is then art; my absolute favorite. STAY is a masterpiece.
Comfort Movies: Studio Ghibli films, especially 'Howl's Moving Castle' and 'Spirited Away' (@pandaprincess9).
The 'Digimon Adventure Tri' films,
'Rurouni Kenshin: Origins'
Comfort TV: 'South Park', 'The Boondocks', practically any anime, and -don't at me- a 'Power Rangers' episode or two.
