Heres a sample of what i normally say

Welcome to 7 cups of tea. I?m glad you have joined our team of listeners & would like to encourage you to get to know our listener community better. Our community is a great place for you to thrive and support those in need.I always encourage our new listeners to spend some time exploring the listeners forums, which have a wealth of information about listening techniques & our community experience. Specifically, you may want to check out the forums on mock chats and the listenerFAQ page!Feel free to join the listenerchat room to get your questions answered or join us in one of our community discussions every Friday at 4PM EST.

I also like to encourage all our new listeners to connect with a mentor as they can be very helpful and supportive. However, if you have any immediate questions I?d be happy to help you anyway I can.

I love thismessage! I haven?t edited mine since the new system, and now it?s way too long for the chat conversations box!

This community allows you to not only reach out to others grow as an active listener, but be a part of a community that will always have your back. My welcome message is kind of long, so I send it in two parts.

First Message:

If you have questions, there are a few ways to get answers. You can join in the listener chat and ask there, but please do not mention anything too specific about your member or guest. You can also connect with a mentor for answers or extra support. To connect with a mentor while in the listeners chat, click the ?xx Listener(s) Currently Participating, Click to Private Message?, and then click on someone with a mentor badge next to their name to PM them. You can read more about our mentor program by clicking on mentors on the top of your dashboard. I am also available to help answer any questions you may have as a new listener. So glad you are here!

I don't like sending them long messages because I personally feel really robotic so I welcome them in a conversation. It goes a little like this:

Blaise: Hello! Welcome to 7 Cups of Tea :) How do you like it here so far?

Listener: I love it! I love helping people here. It's awesome.

B: That's great to hear. Do you have any questions?

[if they have any, I answer them as best as I can]
