HEY TEAM! Just posted in this thread about an idea for another kind of welcome message! Please take a look! I have also pasted it below:
Hey team! You are all doing a rock star job welcoming new listeners! After recently talking to a member of your team, I learned that this listener only received replies from the welcome messages they sent 10% of the time. Additionally, we now know that listeners who build connection & relationships (like an accountability partner) soon after joining are most likely to stick with our community. Therefore, I am wondering if we could make some small changes to the welcome messages that are sent. You all can tweak to your preference, but the main goal would be to increase the chances of getting a reply and supporting that new listener. Here is an idea:
Hey XX,
So glad you decided to join us as a listener here at 7 Cups. My name is Laura & I have been a listener since February. There are many resources here to support you (include all necessary links here) and you can always pop into the chat room for extra support. How are your first chats going? Can you tell me a little bit more about yourself and why you decided to join as a listener? (Ice breaker question).
On the dashboard, you will see on the bottom left side a list of our newest listeners! In addition to connecting toa mentor, it can be really helpful to make connections with other new listeners who joined this week! You can also connect to new listeners in thisforum thread!We are very excited you are here! Welcome to our awesome support community!

Laura, this looks really good. The point of the ice breaker question is just to invite the person to connect. We all know when someone wants to connect with us. One way people message that is through asking a question. It shows that we are interested in them. So, questions like:
-how did you hear about 7 cups?
-or what do you like about the idea of listening?
-or what kinds of books or movies do you like?
All of these things can be helpful in beginning to establish a relationship, which is really key.
