Victim Blaming and shaming
Greetings,
I found this forum after searching for free therapy. I can’t afford a therapist as I am unemployed. I have a ton to unpack but my biggest battle is that I am blamed for everything.
Since my mom died, I have been become the the punching bag. I always get lectured and shamed that I don’t have a lot friends. Frankly, the more “ friends” I have the more isolated I feel. I am perfectly happy reading a book or pursing my hobbies that keep me grounded.
Anytime I make any achievements in life, my phone rings and I get told what an awful job I have , what terrible place I live. If Ian focused snd enjoying my job ( when I had one) I got told that you will risk losing friends. My brother is the opposite. Always approval seeking, has enormous circle of friends but is utterly clueless about what he likes to do and lacks complete self awareness. I get lectured all the time how bad I am as a person. It is all my fault that I am in situation that I am in. Everything
I can’t move forward
@sincereLake2100 Welcome to 7Cups! We're happy to have you here <3 First of all, I wanted to say I'm so sorry for your loss. I relate to losing a parent so I understand at least a hint of the grief you must be feeling. It cannot be easy to be in your situation. But I want to tell you that none of this is your fault. You are an amazing human and I wish the best for you. Hope you feel better soon! <3

I get this completely, and totally resonate with your comment about feeling alone around many people.
I hate being around others, I'm quite happy on my own for the rest of my life, have no interest in entering any relationships and haven't for a while, I'm 35, I have ADHD, Autism, Learning difficulties and Mental age delay amongst other things.
When you speak about the way others speak to you and the things they say, it will take you a while, but eventually, you will learn to ignore them and shut them out, because I bet they only come to you to criticise you or put you down, you don't need those people in your life.
I'd rather have no friends (which I haven't) than 100 wannabe friends that don't care about me and wouldn't grab the extinguisher if I was on fire.
You're in a good place though, it's great here and listeners are on hand 24/7 if you ever need a chat and this website is huge with guidance and chat rooms with dedicated sessions or open chats.
I wish you well.
