One step forward 🌞
Hey hey lovelieees, hoping everyone is doing well and staying safe! 💛
Sometimes it's hard to move forward because we feel stuck about where to move and how much to leap forward, sometimes fearing to not be able to take a big jump forward pulls us back and keeps us where we were, but do y'all know? It doesn't matter how far you jump, what matters is that you're willing to take a step forward, so thinking now, right in this moment, What is one step you can take, to move forward?
This step can be anything that you feel will help you move closer to your ideally better self, allow you to move one step farther from what's pulling you back and keeping you down, just about anything you feel could help you move in any aspect of your life. 💛

I felt stuck on a memory of a person who left me at my lowest so now am an outgoing person when they left me i felt terrible but am actually free they were holding me back now i have alot of friends and i go out nearly everyday i did everything i feared from life is easy the complex part was me thinking I don't deserve to be happy:") so now am living by why not and what's the worst thing that could happen got me into of fun stuff i couldn't even imagine
@Sunisshiningandsoareyou
What is making me take a step forward is learning what I love to do. I am speaking from a perspective of recent unemployment. It's tough and stressful, but I know what I would like to do as a career. I love to talk with individuals about any mental health problem and help anyway that I can. This has made me realize that I will start applying for my Masters in Psychology, and focus on jobs in the psychology field, with more of a hands on experience.
Also, by getting volunteer experiences working on mental health issues/ topics. 😀
@patientStrawberry4596
Hiyaa Strawberry, I get how stressful the unemployment phase is. So very proud of you for assessing your interests and doing your best to keep learning and exploring them, in order to pursue a career you want. Psychology is such a fabulous field and volunteering at mental health platforms definitely is a great way to get some of that experience and encouragement to keep going. Good wishes for your masters and future goals. You so got thissss, one step at a time. Happy learning! ❤
Hello, dear @Sunisshiningandsoareyou
It's been three weeks to the day since I lost my beloved father. I channelled my grief here in 7Cups by being more active than ever and listening to members. I was very effective and I'm happy, but in the end, when I rest at night, it floods me, the grief. So I go back and log in again.
But I realized that there's no ignoring the process of grieving. At first, I felt like, "no, my dad won't want me to grieve; he prefers that I celebrate his life and continue living mine." I don't want to tarnish his memories with the loss I feel, the void that I have in my soul. Today, I braved my weakness and had a breakdown.
Ugly crying. Asthma-inducing. Sheet-gripping. Fetal tucking. Heart-wrenching.
I can't say I felt better afterwards for there is no getting over a parent crossing over, but there was a certain sense of relief to the process.
Thank you for this topic from a year ago; it feels like it resurfaced just in time for me to answer. <3
@CosmicMiracle
Oh dear, Cosmic, I'm deeply apologetic to hear that. :( *hugs you very tight*
Losing a loved one, moreover a loving parent is the hardest thing ever, there's really no such thing as the right time or way to grieve or even a guarantee that someday will feel better. Most of the days will go by alright and then grief, rushes in waves engulfs us in a way we have no other choice than to simply curl up and be caught in that wave. I want you to remember, it is okay, it is okay to take your time to accept the loss and process the emotions, grieve at your pace and however you feel most suited with (there's absolutely no "suitability" factor here, I understand ❤ basically anything that works even a little bit). Super proud of you for braving it and allowing yourself the space to cry, I can relate with the "it didn't feel nice per se but there was a sense of relief", it's this sense of relief, we aim to keep trying for. <3
I'm happy this post resurfaced at a time you needed it, and I truly hope sharing a bit here provided some sense of comfort. Please never hesitate using your member account to personally talk to listeners here as well, we can all use some space and company at times, I know.
Sending lots of love and strength your way, my friend. ❤
@Sunisshiningandsoareyou what's making me step forward is that I am 5 months pregnant and have a little girl to think of 💜
@AnneSunshine
Hey Anne, I really like your username hehe. That's such lovely reasons to step up. Wishing you all the best for parenthood. Remember to take care of yourself alsooo. All the love. ❤
@AnneSunshine
Congratulations! Good luck with your pregnancy x
For me it's because I don't want to lose to cancer so though it's hurting a lot it gives me that extra umph to keep taking steps forward.
@LucyGoosey1997
Hiya Lucy (I like that rhyme in the username hehe), nice to meet you. ❤
I'm so very sorry to hear you're battling cancer, it's just one of those "I wish no ever gets to go through that" kinda situation :( I however am reaallly proud to see your fighting spirit, it is super radiant and hey hey, you so got this. I can imagine how incredibly hard your days must be, but to keep a positive attitude and fight through the pains, is simply commendable on your part. I'll be keeping you in my thoughts and sending lots of love and strength to you and your close ones. ❤ Hang tight, you!
@Sunisshiningandsoareyou
A step that often helps me move forward is to comply with my needs (both physical and mentally) whenever I am feeling stuck.
@Sunisshiningandsoareyou
I would love to get out of my flat and get a haircut and start going to the gym .
@Sunisshiningandsoareyou limit my time on YouTube to 2h
@MessyEssie
Hey Essie, limiting time for YouTube sounds like a great step, it can indeed be difficult to control the scrolling hehe, I've found myself mindlessly scrolling and watching random videos sometimes too, the regret later is so real lol. I hope you're able to limit your usage. Good luck. ❤
