One step forward 🌞
Hey hey lovelieees, hoping everyone is doing well and staying safe! 💛
Sometimes it's hard to move forward because we feel stuck about where to move and how much to leap forward, sometimes fearing to not be able to take a big jump forward pulls us back and keeps us where we were, but do y'all know? It doesn't matter how far you jump, what matters is that you're willing to take a step forward, so thinking now, right in this moment, What is one step you can take, to move forward?
This step can be anything that you feel will help you move closer to your ideally better self, allow you to move one step farther from what's pulling you back and keeping you down, just about anything you feel could help you move in any aspect of your life. 💛
great post sun @Sunisshiningandsoareyou !
And coincidentally I just took a step forward today. I want to start my own small biz but fear keeps holding me back since I never cooked in a big batch. Today I cooked 1 menu in a big batch for the 1st time and send it to friends and fam for free sample 😁
The taste was good but a liiiiitle bit lost in the way. As if I wanted to be in Paris and ended up in Gentilly, 3 miles out of Paris LOL
was devastated the whole day but reading this post gave me motivation to try again. Thank you!
Awwww @ouiCherie , I am so so happy to hear you felt motivated to try again after reading this post , you're so amazing, I love your enthusiastic and determination.
I understand the fears and concerns related to starting a new business, and how you'd feel disheartened when something doesn't go right, but you took a leap of faith and took a step forward and are also willing to take more such steps forward ,and I cant be more proud of you than I already am feeling now . Know that you truly got this , setbacks are only there to guide us in the right direction , all we gotta do is trust ourselves and move forward. Rooting for you always ! Biggest hugsss❤
@ouiCherie.
Yes thank you! Your post made me stop and put things in a different perspective. I try to take a step every day. Today I did my physiotherapy for my hip. What was my only physical problem has become the least of it. It’s so hard when there’s multiple issues to see a way out. It feels like nothings moving forward. It actually is, just not the way I want it to. It all hurts. I’ve been taking steps forward without giving myself credit. We all need to remember even the smallest steps.
I am legit so happy to hear somehow the post made you put things into a different perspective and I am glad you now feel it's important to give credit to ourselves, for all steps we take , no matter how big or small or how effective or not , each step forward is worth credit . While I do feel upset to hear you are in pain, also relieved you're taking so many steps with physiotherapy , wishing you calm and a good health moving forwards , keep going , you've got this @exuberantScarf1822 ❤
First I want to say I have an old Paula Abdul song stuck in my head now.. i take one step forward, you take two steps back..... ... opposites attract... I'm going to find a way to study for my pmp.
@Sunisshiningandsoareyou
One step that I can take to move close to an ideally better self is trying new things and stepping our of my comfort zone.
@Sunisshiningandsoareyou
One thing that can help move myself forward is if I try not to take unkind comments from others personally. Also, I am almost 6 months out from losing my mom. She was in her early 50s when she died. I still ruminate over the events of her passing. I speak to my therapist once weekly, sometimes every two weeks. I have to remind myself that my mom was very sick and there’s nothing I could’ve done to make her better, and that her death is not my fault.
Repeating these statements to myself will help me move forward, as well as properly disposing of her expired medications. I still am stuck in the mind frame that she needs them, and I dream that she’s calling out for me some days. She died in our house under hospice care, per her wishes.
Hello @SuperMonkeyBall3435, welcome to 7 cups, it is nice to have you here. 😊
I'm really sorry for your loss, losing a loved one is by far the hardest thing one can go through, it is super understandable for you to take your time to allow yourself to accept the loss and process the grief, as per your pace.
I'm extremely glad to know that you're seeking support from your therapist, and also reaching out here in cups for some support and company, it does help to have someone with us, so we feel less alone with what we are going through. I truly hope you're taking good care of yourself while grieving too. It is such a great practice to remind yourself to not to take unkind words from others personally { makes me upset to know you have to hear them though :/ }, and to remind yourself that your mother was sick and there really was nothing you could've done to save her, you are not at fault, okiee? Repeat this to yourself for as long as you need to, you cared for her and you let her depart as per her wishes ~ that was so thoughtful of yall. ❤️
Offering lots of comfy hugs and sending beams of strength your way.
@Sunisshiningandsoareyou Hi! I am that duck from yesterday. I honestly cant express how much your post relates to me! I got a entrance exam coming up in a few days and I got a hugeee pile of books in front of me and yeah.. I didn't realise it but I subconsciously was afraid of actually not performing well.
Thanks for the post ! :D
@psyduck1225
Hiya ducky, i remember you lol, good to see you here. 😊
I'm so glad the post resonated with you and helped you come to a realisation. I understand how fear sometimes paralyzes our brain and affects our ability to overcome the same, sounds like an important exam though so it is ofcourse valid to feel the pressure of not being able to perform well and all the other "what ifs" but hey hey, you won't know till you try, and when you do try your best, at the end of the day, there will atleast be this satisfaction that "Okay, i know i did my best atleast" ~ there's alot of other factors involved in clearing exams like these, most of which are out of our control, but the only thing that is in *our* control is our own efforts and dedication, sooooooo we gotta do it from our end atleast? You sooo got this, my friend. A huuuge pile of books is overwhelming for anyone, perhaps taking it one book/ topic to study at a time can help, aye?
Rooting for you big time, Give it your best that's all, rest shall be okay. ❤️
@Sunisshiningandsoareyou Thank you so much! U Da Best :]
This really hits home for me, I am still recovering from a breakdown but it put a lot of things in perspective for me. I've decided to start taking steps forward no matter how small, even smoke free 3 days so far. This place has helped me so much and it's posts like this that keep me going.
Thank you for this lovely message.
@Jarinabox
Ohmygosh, i cannot tell how happy it makes me to hear this post helped you feel better somehow. Thankyouuu for making my day totally. It is also very nice to hear being here has been helpful to you. You took the step to reach out for support though, so hey hey *offers to pat your back*. ❤️
Breakdowns are so hard to recover from, please take your time to heal through it, deciding to take some steps forward is such a brave step in itself --- i for one, am super proud of you. Also Woohoo, 3 days smoke free is commendable, you so got this, alright? One day, one step at a time indeed. Keep walking. ❤️
@Sunisshiningandsoareyou
I would say that one step forward I could take is to do something really small such as going on a short walk while watching the sunset, or reading a few pages of an interesting book :)
@Sunisshiningandsoareyou this post is amazing I don't really know what to say but this post made my so happy <3 I am not doing the best right now, but things like this really help me 😭❤️
Hey @FriendlyAlien101, I'm sorry to know you aren't doing the best currently, but hey hey, you're here and trying your best and that should count too. 😊
Totally made my day, perhaps the entire upcoming week too, to know this post helped you in someway. It's the little things that matter surely hehe. Many thanks for replying, I appreciate it big time. ❤
Offering lots of comfy hugs to you, I hope you're able to overcome whatever's keeping you down, it is okay to pause and crawl forward when taking a step feels overwhelming too, you so got this, at your pace always and ofcourse, this community is here and rooting for you. 😊
