This is an awesome post. I had just figured out how to do this and I felt like I had just discovered life.

@Dillion When I post a link the URL is shown, but sometimes I see where someone posts a link but instead of the URL showing one word will show, or just a picture. Do you know how to do that?

Here's an extra tip for those who are new to these steps.

When I was learning to create embedded links, I would type the whole text of my post and include the full URL at the bottom, before I started the steps of (1) copying the URL, (2) highlighting the word(s) that would contain the link such as the word "here," (3) clicking on the chainlink icon, (4) pasting the copied URL in the box, and (5) clicking OK.

For me, it was easier than having lots of tabs to different web pages to go get the URLs

I found it easier to start the 5 steps when everything I needed was ready in one place.. After creating the link, I would delete the full URL from the body of my post. So, the final post would look like this.

(Now that I'm more experienced, I often prepare my post without the URL at the bottom. I just open a new tab/window, go to the desired webpage to copy the URL, click back to my posting window, highlight the word(s) where I want to insert the link, and finish the remaining steps. It does save time. )
