Request Limit

I want to say that the requests limits are a terrible, horrible idea. As a member, I get listeners that only take the requests and then they say nothing, it may not be important for the listener but it represents one requests left for me, you're not caring about the members that are actually seeking help you only care about the rules, which is not only inhuman but is also stupid.

I don't understand why the limits, specially taking into consideration that you don't have a great listener pool. Maybe instead of focusing on rules, you should focus on PEOPLE!!!

@DPrince I agree that the request limits are a terrible, horrible idea.

They were introduced because a few members were abusing the system by making dozens of requests but refusing to chat with anyone. There would have been better ways to deal with that problem, but the request limit was the easiest.

By the way, it's important to help improve the listener pool by reporting any listener who takes a request and then says nothing. I know this doesn't really solve the problem, but it's the best that can be done at present.

The Browse Listeners page is usually a better way to find an experienced listener who is willing to chat.

I understand your frustration! It can be annoying certainly. What would be your suggestion to combat trolling? The thought process as charlie said was to combat abuse by limited trolling ability.

@RarelyCharlie It would help if 7 cups made it easier to report them Currently the only was is a M-L report form or email, neither of which that are mentioned when the 1-1 chat is open. @7cupscommunity can we please have an easier way to report these listeners? Even with knowing how to get to the form it takes a fair number of steps.

@AffyAvo Yes, I agree. It should be easier for members to report these listeners.

All that developer time spent on the emoji picker in recent weeks could have been better spent on a system for detecting and reporting these ghosted chats, in my opinion.

@AffyAvo

I totally agree, Affy. It's definitely not an easy to do thing, or to find out how to, especially for newer members.

@AffyAvo

Writing a review for the listener will allow those in safety to look into the matter.

@7CupsCommunity A listener has to send 2 messages to be able to review them though. So someone really needs to know what to do and take extra steps to report those who don't respond or give 1 message only.

@AffyAvo

Am going to tag the Project Leader of Safety & Knowledge Subcommunity to see what there thoughts are for adding it to a subcommunity or a place that more people can find the form.
