Doing the right thing. Someone is always disappointed and it's never enough

Yes it's crippling, having such a hard time with making deciosns especially since it's all uncertainties. There's no way of knowing how it will turn out unless you wait and see 10 years down the road. I asked this to mentor of mine and he said why not try a pro con list, get more info and then go with your gut cause you could just over think things. It hasn't quite worked out yet but I think I need a bit more time for the concept to settle in???? Maybe? Hopefully God will make the decision for me, so I don't have to, then I won't have to make itmyself and know it's a good one because God knows the future and I don't.

@reservedexcitment oh no I read the question wrong, :( so I'mmore concerned about doing the right things because doing things right might be right one day but inefficient sometime later ( e.g. highway speed limits, we honestly need to let people drive faster, they need to get to places) or it may work at some point in time but not later ( e.g. slavery) You need to put some thought into life, and decide if it's the right thing to do, times change, we all need to adapt.

I struggle with being a perfectionist and light OCD. If I keep trying and "failing" in my terms, it drives me nuts. I'd rather do things right, but often struggle from setting too high of standards and being too critical of myself. I really wish I could change this about myself, but alas, I cannot.

I'm more worried about doing things right.

Doing "the right thing" is subjective and if I think something is right then I'll do it. I know because it will feel right in my body and it doesn't hurt anyone else. If I commit to something even if it doesn't feel right, I need to complete that action I've started by righting it or following through if it's what I need to do. In that case, I am doing it right.

But whatever I do, my intention is to complete it as it should be done by my own standards or however best I am able to, in a way that I won't regret the results of later even if it isn't the "right thing" by my own definition.

Everything must be done right, I feel like I'm being punished when I say or do something wrong. No matter the size

Doing things right because there are so many things one person can do wrong oppose to doing the right thing. One right thing to you can be a wrong thing to another

All of the above. I have an idea of how I believe things should be done right, whilst also striving to do the right thing! (This can, at times, feel like keeping up appearances). It's exhausting
