I have a fear of failure. I know it's a normal part of life, but I was raised to believe that failure is unacceptable and makes you useless. So I've always been working hard to prevent it. I've had numerous breakdowns because of the stress I put on myself thanks to this fear. It's hard.

@WaterfallLily i know exactly how you feel.

@WaterfallLily Yeah I've been brought up to believe that too. It's a fear of failing and then not being good enough for anyone or anything else.

Whenever I fail to do something, I usually beat myself up, and feel like I could care less about whatever I tried doing. If I have to try again, then I either not do it or try another way to do whatever I have to do. I'm usually failing stuff anyway.

I feel bad and angry and sad and disappointed when I face a failure. Then I start laughing thinking how embarrassingly funny my situation is.

Then I tell the world to fuck off and enjoy my life.

Never Surrender.

Failure is unacceptable. Failure=worthless=hopeless=burden=time to serve my penance

I am not the best at dealing with failure, because whatever venture I enter into failure is not a thought that crosses my mind. I am thinking there is going to be a win, a victory, a positve outcome. If I entered into something with thoughts of failure most likely I would fail.

I become sad for a while and then convince myself that it isn't important and put it in perspective

Typically I cower and become introspective. The memories of my failures are very lucid and stay with me for a long time.

How I deal with failure:

There's always a sliver of humor in every failure, and I make the choice to chuckle and move forward :)

I too, love it when I can use laughter to help me overcome failures. :) Dark humor is what my siblings and I call it.
