I do trust my instincts, but most of those are really yers of practice and studying, it is quick thinking and it saves lives every day
I rarely trust my instincts and then when I do they're wrong and when I don't I was originally write
I try to follow my instinct but I've been starting to 2nd guess myself even when I know what I should do. I just don't trust myself. I hate being like this
I use to but not anymore. I thought I had found a decent guy, but he turned out to be a liar and a user. The decisions i make that i feel are right at the time turn out to be wrong just plain wrong!
My instincts have gotten me out of trouble more times than I can count. Not trusting them nearly got me and my brother killed. Ever since then, whenever I get that tingle on the back of my neck telling me trouble is around the corner, I listen.
It's strange, when I am being pessimistic, my instincts are usually spot on. However, when using instincts in love and relationships, I go down like the titanic. My instincts told me that people were doing bad things and conspiring behind my back and boy I was right. I just trust in Jesus Christ now rather than listening to my gut or my heart. Both are very deceiving.
I don't trust my instincts, everything in me tells me to quit my job, curse at everyone I see, drive fast, drink heavy, smash my phone, run away from my house, go as far as I can till I can't recognize the language, get naked, eat bad, have sex, change my name, join a commune, smoke cigarettes till it hurts, listen to music way to too loud.
I try to have a balance between trusting my instincts and reasoning in a situation. Instincts and reasoning can both tell you different but useful things from my experience. Just as my instincts constantly mess up, I can overthink a situation and end up getting the wrong ideas that way, too. I feel like I can't trust anything that goes through my mind--no matter how many facts I have to back it up because I can get delusional and feel like I have facts when I don't. Maybe I'm too hard on myself, though. It's really hard to find the right balance when it comes to trusting yourself.
always trust your intuition.
There are times to trust your instincts - when you have to make an immediate choice, when something vital depends upon it. But instincts are dangerous too - irrational fear or dislike of people based on their gender, the way they look, their race, their religion or whatever are commonplace - these things need self reflection and questioning.
We are the sum of our histories and our memories and these things can make us strong and safe. But all too often humans use another skill - that of association - someone bullied us and they were identifiable in some general way - their skin colour whatever - so now we associate that general characteristic with the bullying we experienced. That quick judgement is useful in life or death situations, but it's a fuzzy skill - one that needs careful analysis in day to day life lest we become bigoted or unreasonably prejudiced.
If it can't hurt you to take a moment then it's always worth considering your snap judgement may be wrong.
