@Laura
I got 4.09 on 5 score! :P I think I am kinda grit! Hehe! While following my goals whenever a obstacle appears I give my all to surpass it! I have great perserverance mostly when I fail, I try one more time and one more time after! When I really want something and I am passionate about it, I work for it even when in a different path but that may do good indirectly to my main goal! I give my best! ;)

@TyrandeWhisperwind same score here!! :P
@nepetaa :D grit twins x'D
That was fun!
Well, I only scored 2.10 on the Grit Quiz. Only higher than 10% of the population. So grit is definitely not one of my strong points.
I do best with short term goals/interests unless I'm involved with a group or have some kind of accountability. I find that the main problem is that I have a variety of interests and not enough time to really be involved in a major way with all of them. So, left to my own devices, I either tend to flit from one to another or remain slightly involved. I tend to be easily distracted in general. That's not to say that I can't focus on what I'm doing at the time because I'm pretty good at that; however, on the larger scale, I'm easily distracted. I hope that makes sense.
@BridgetAileen I only got a 2.6. I have a serious problem concentrating/focusing/sustaining attention on things unless they are of true interest to me. I am not ADHD, but I have similar traits! lol God bless those with so much patience and persistence with long term goals. I sincerely commend you. Your traits are a gift b/c there are people such as myself who cannot maintain long term goals or dreams b/c I just don't have the darned patience! :)
@TransAm85, so good to see you! I always enjoy "bumping into you" around 7 Cups.
You got a higher score than I did. I probably would have scored higher when I was younger. That's no excuse for me, however. There are some very elderly people who still have lots of that gritty perseverance. I think I allowed criticism to wipe out a lot of my perseverance, which I guess confirms that I wasn't all that gritty in the first place. LOL!
So I guess we can call ourselves women who are flexible and go with the flow.
Hope to run into you again soon.
*hugs*
@BridgetAileen True, I got older and I let the criticism from the people closest to me break me down. Sometimes there are people who enjoy being negative and critical instead of supporting others when they are doing well. It's so stupid! Well I hope to ttysoon!
@BridgetAileen
So glad I'm not the only 2.1! Yeah, long term stuff is tough. Sounds like we have a lot of similarities.
I wonder how you go about improving grit. Maybe that can be my next project I can do for a few weeks then give up on. ;)
@BridgetAileen Likewise, Aileen. I'm the same way. I think I got a 2.4 but I can be annoyingly persistent when I really want something lol. Some call that stubbornness ;)
@Laura
2.9...What does this mean?
@Holidaze, the grit they appear to be testing with this quiz is determination and perseverance. with 0 being low and 5 being high. So witth your score of 2.9, I would imagine that you're around average.
2.10
I have no idea what this is supposed to mean.
@Leyel, the grit they appear to be testing with this quiz is determination and perseverance. with 0 being low and 5 being high. I had the same score as you did, so we're both really low (higher than only 10% of the population).
3.6
Yeah I'm somewhere just over the middle. I do stick with things that matter outside myself but personal improvement goals are a struggle for me.
Should I take it?
3.5 grit! Kinda average then
Great here is another problem show up , my grit 2.40 .. is there anything bad in this world have not been in me ??
@TheShadow99
I am sorry you feel as though it is a negative trait. I can think of many professions and life experiences that require an individual to freely shift from one item to another.
The score is not inherently good or bad. It is simply to provide you with material for introspection. All of us are different and that is what makes everything better. If you find you enjoy problem solving or "brainstorming" as opposed to long term activities that is great.
The other side of the scale are those individuals who tend to enjoy making those creative ideas come to life ~ also a phenomenal and necessary skill.
We are all in this together. In order to succeed, we need people who thrive in different environments. 🌏🌍🌎💡
@Compassionatelistener108, that's beautifully said! Very encouraging to me. Being on the low end, I was a bit disappointed. I know that perseverance and determination are good qualities. But like you said, there are positives about the opposite, too.
Thanks for the reminder.
@BridgetAileen
Thank you for sharing. It made my day when read your reply. 😀
5.0 wooooooooo.
@YourTearsAreDelicious
Wheeeeeeeeeey!
I got a 4.4 out of 5 :) It said I scored higher than 90% of american adults that took the test.
