@Laura
Pinch something, like a squishy or my keys which I hold in my hand. Also listening to music helps me calm down.
Is to get those thoughts out of my head and work on something
If I can distract myself with work I become happy. It also feels wayyy better when you see the work you have done at the end of the day
take deep breaths. Take as many as I needed to. If Im overwhelmed with my thoughts, I write them down.
Listening to music ...
Act and don't react.
Count till 20.
No knee-jerk reaction
Gaming, so i shut out the world.
I can't, so.
Uninstall apps that I don't use. It's like housekeeping for my phone. But it doesn't take physical energy.
@LittleAngel3of5
That's awesome! I didn't know someone also feels that way about uninstalling apps
I often will be clearing cache on phone and laptop to just feel like all that garbage and all the "old me" is gone. I need new apps to replace them, so it's really quite relaxing but also fun to purge, and then replace.
@Skyy0 Exactly! It's like cleaning my room, but I can do it when I'm out or when I can't get up and clean, like when I can't sleep. It's really refreshing. I do it with computers and even consoles too. Just clear out things that aren't needed. It does wonders.
Play guitar.
Agree with the above post. It's quite hard for me to calm down, so reading these tips seriously help! For me, I often massage my temple and scalp area. Music is always a part of my life, so doesn't necessarily calm me down. Writing anything that's bothering me is pretty helpful, whether it be in my phone notes, or on paper. I tell myself I can get through this moment, it will soon be part of the past. Nothing defines me, but I do have control over how I act.
I just need some movement, so exercising usually does the trick, however, I too often give in to the voice of being lazy and just play games. Games aren't very healthy for me.
