I'm feeling vulnerable because I finally paid for and sent off my PGCE application, which is a huge step for me as it's going to put me on the path of becoming a primary school teacher - if I get in! It's a risk and something I never would have considered a couple of years ago.

I am losing my youth and my looks. It may just be vanity — but my confidence has taken quite a plunge.

@AmorphousCrystal i understand. Im 40 and Im right there with you. My whole life ive been praised for my looks...thats really it. I see the signs of aging in me and I fight them with creams and healthy eating but I know its inevitable. I do see many pretty elegant older people but I miss being 21. Its hard when beauty is wrapped up with self worth. Im trying to work on some more sustainable attributes but I have to find them first.

@adventurousCoconut5536 Im with you on this one. I dont mean to generalize but society still equates a womans worth to her looks. It doesnt matter how good of a researcher I am since the first thing they judge you for is how you look. Im just devastated as I am 33 and I feel its all downhill from hereon. Im not that 18 yr old nor even the 28 yr old I once was. Partly as well — Im starting to resent my work because of high stress. This job has just made me ugly.

1) being sleepless and passive, sitting behind the computer and browsing social places, I can feel void of thoughts that I could insert and that would fill my sense of importance. (This one is funny actually - I mean: "Relax and take it easy, your life CAN be slower. smiley Enjoy the ability to take your time, don't rush!")

2) sometimes there is just so much confusion , in my relationships too.

I have a friend who constantly says how he doesn't understand my thoughts (he always criticizes them or don't understand what I am saying. We always have misunderstandings)

And I talked with someone about some organizational stuff and she just didn't understand what I was saying.

It can get frustrating and then I am on to generate a bad self-image.

But probably it isn't as bad as it seems like. This friend just focuses on the negative. He can be like the flashlight of negative focus in my life. I just probably have to focus on the positive myself...
