When I was little I watched the birds fly to my backyard in the morning, and fly west in flocks at sunset. I therefore believed that the sun was an island that heated up during the day and cooled off at night, allowing a safe place for birds to rest away from predators. Yes, I thought the sun was an island and that birds lived on it. ;)

When I was little I thought I could be a butterfly when I grew up. My sister crushed that reality when I was seven.
When I was little I believe that I will become a scientist and change the world for the better but as I grow up I lose hope add up to my lowest self esteem struggling to the harsh reality to the world. Right now I aim to be at least someone useful in my own little ways.

When I was little, I believed nothing was "impossible". To this day, I still don't. Nothing is impossible as long as you try your hardest and fight for what you believe in.

There's a difference between believing in yourself and doing something absurdly ridiculous.
I believe that the person was talking about goals that can be done and is interested in accomplishing such as (getting a good grade, finding a new passion, having happiness).
Not doing something that is remotely impossible (flying in the sky) nor doing something that makes no sense with no real purpose (touching your toes while doing the Harlem Shake with a giant pumpkin head and eating gelato on the left and slaying dragon on the right).
You get the point.

When I was little I believed that someone would come and save me. That eventually I would be safe. That some day someone would come and keep me safe. I still struggle with being scared, but I realized that I can save myself. That while the world is filled with dark creatures and angry people waiting to hurt me. I can protect myself. I may not be good at it but I'm better at it then I was. And I am learning.
