Being honest and good to others and always try to help the best and right thing to do
When I was little, I believed that whining gets you away with everything..
😅😆😂🤣
.....that Jaws from James Bond was waiting for me the other side of the toilet door.
That i would have an amazing university life
In ghosts. I still believe that they exists
I'd be a success in life and somebody could actually love me.
That I was destined to become famous, magical or a hero. (I read a lot of fantasy novels.) Now I don't believe in destiny or magic.
I believed my parents are always right
I believed my father, who died just before I was born, was reincarnated in me. I think my mother is the one who put that into my head, which I understand. She lost her husband and was left with two kids and a baby on the way. After I was born, she saw me as a direct physical connection to him.
When things got rough in my house (a daily occurance) I would talk to my father as if he was there listening. As I got older I continued to talk to him, but over time came to realize that there was no one there; I just continued to do it because it was comforting to do so. At one point a few years ago the pretense of my ritual hit me harder than ever, and I felt a palpable emptiness in the room. It was a lonely feeling, but that empty feeling was me realizing that I could not solve my problems by handing them off to a fantasy. Just for closure in my own mind, I said a symbolic goodbye and let it go.
If I were to try to talk to him now, it would feel silly. I no longer take comfort in magical thinking, and things like praying into the air seem creepy to me. Rituals have their place, but what I find comforting now is facing reality and coming to terms with what is, not with what I wish were true.
When I was little I beleived I could be a rockstar
