Hello & welcome to everyone who joined us recently. Glad to have you all here. I hope you are all taking it easy on yourself this week.

A couple of weeks ago we discussed: What are your expectations as a newly joined user? Are there specific goals you hope to achieve? I appreciate all for opening up and sharing your goals with us. If any of you haven't yet shared, please share your goals here with us!

This week's prompt is: Have you had any experience with anxiety? Share a bit about yours with us!

We all have our struggles and challenges and for one or other reasons, we are all here. Please know you are not alone here. We are all here with you to listen to and support you. @ASilentObserver I've been diagnosed with anxiety and a few other things. I'm not sure if this is completely to do with anxiety, but I always cover the embarrassing parts up with blankets, even around the care home I live in. I'm afraid to leave the care home, I never go outside, because I know I'm a freak and I don't want people to be mean to me

@Tinywhisper11 Thank you for sharing this vulnerable experience. Feeling afraid and wanting to cover up are understandable reactions given what you've faced with anxiety and living in a care home. What hopes do you have for finding more comfort or connection in your life?

@ASilentObserver

Hi, ASO,

I do have anxiety.  Sometimes it is worse than others.  At work, I was just switched from the overnight shift to the afternoon shift.  That has me very anxious about how I will do.  Today is my first day shift and I am having a performance review this afternoon.  So, I am especially anxious about that.

@purpleTree4652 It is understandable to feel anxious about changes at work and having a performance review coming up. Your feelings are natural in this situation. You mentioned the switch to a different shift - has anything helped ease your mind as you adjust?

@interlligentshawzk I am sorry to hear you've been having a difficult day so far. It is understandable to feel that way sometimes when things don't go our way. What kinds of things have been bothering you today, if you feel comfortable sharing?

@interlligentshawzk It sounds like feelings of not being good enough from your parents have been weighing on you.  You deserve to feel valued and supported. We are all here with you Shawzk and you are good enough.
