Don't think I'll be having children

When I was younger I thought I was supposed to have kids. Like that it's a thing every woman is supposed to do. I didn't know I had a choice. I've come to the realization that I don't want to go through the actual labor of giving birth. I also don't think I'll be a good mom. I also don't like cooking, I can't work. It also seems like women do most of the work D: idk if I'll change my mind when I'm older. (currently 29) Or if I'll regret not having kids. I don't really want to be a grandma. Maybe there's something wrong with me idk.

@polite2 there's absolutely nothing wrong in not wanting to be a mother! It's not a mandatory step at all, you can feel happy and fulfilled by choosing other goals and priorities in life.
As for regretting: well, there's never a 100% guarantee that you won't regret a choice, that goes both for people who choose to not have kids and people who choose to have them. But the more a choice is pondered, the more you think it through and embrace your good reasons for making that choice, the more it's likely to be happy with it in the long run.
So enjoy your choice, and enjoy your life!

You know, when I was in my late teens, I daydreamed about how my life would be when I hit my 30s, might have a kid and a dog. Then, when I got into my late 20s, I thought about not wanting to have kids. By early 30s, the classmates I had back in grade school, were slowly getting married and have children of their own. I realized, I don't like kids, but at the same time, I'm keeping the option open. I will be 40 next year, single. But come to think of it, if my future husband loves kids, and agrees to take care of them. I might consider it, but to think that by the time I'm in my 60s, my kid would only be in their 20s. Then, depending on my own lifespan, I may or may not be able to see her/him start their own family. So, maybe my future husband has to be younger than I, so he lives longer? I don't know.. First things first, I need a husband.. heheheh

I knew from a very young age that I never wanted to have kids and did not prioritize marriage as a goal I needed to reach. I am 41 now and very happy I made that decision at that young age, and that, despite others' concerns and lack of understanding, I honored what was best for me. I make no apologies for who I am and what I want or don't want, especially if it is not a commonly accepted idea. We must protect ourselves from others' ignorant judgment and stay true to ourselves.

There’s nothing wrong with you for feeling this way. It sounds like you’re starting to separate what you genuinely want from what you were taught you were supposed to want. And it’s completely okay if your feelings stay the same or change as you get older. You don’t have to have everything figured out right now.

@polite2 Absolutely nothing wrong with you. I have felt this way for years and used to question why I didnt want these things that so many around me seem to long for. It just isn't who we are and that is okay.
