A friend of mine, who incidentally has also experienced suicidal feelings, once told me this: "When you feel depressed or anxious, congratulate yourself. You have now joined the club of anybody who has ever made a difference in the world."
Struggling with depression?

Typically, this question is asked from a place of emotional distress and pain. So, while I can't understand what you are going through from this brief question, I can just say that everyone on 7Cups is here for you, and hoping you make it through this pain as quickly and safely as possible.

This is a question I've been asking myself, too. People often ask me how it feels, saying that they don't understand. It feels sad that I'm alone in this.

Why me? I think at some point all come to wonder about this. There is no why. There is no one above that takes aim and chooses you. And if there were, he does it because you know that you can go through it.

this could be taken two ways. 1st why me in the bad cases and 2nd why me in good cases. the reason is simple because you are you. There are many great people in this world but there isn't somebody like you. You are you. That what makes you. That what makes you get to do what you should do, in bad cases, you get to feel bad because you have your strength to face it by your own style. You are you. You could find somebody who has some hobbies and favourite songs but your personality and what you have in your mind make you, you.

Why you? Nobody knows for sure. Just like we don't know why some people get cancer. Just like we don't know why some people trip and fall and break their leg. But whoever it is-you, me, them-recovery is possible. Happiness is possible.

This depends on what your believes are. You can think about things like Karma or just bad luck and so on. But in the end, it's really hard to find out why it is you and not somebody else. And I think it's more important to look how you can overcome your problems.

Because our life goes through different experience and this world is like a school we came here to learn and master in one particular thing, have you ever asked yourself the same question when something good happens to you so why not to confront bad things in life

I'm struggling with this myself right now. But if you're lost, reach for help. Please. Sometimes help is closer than you know. Know that you are loved and others do indeed care.

Good question. It's because it's gotta happen to someone. Let's take car crashes for example. They happen. All the time. And that won't stop for quite a while. There will always be someone who experiences something bad, loosing someone they love, or getting an injury that is so bad that it reaches a point where you feel like you can't live a descent life, or being born a certain way that makes you different, and unfourtunately, that's you. We can all ask ourselves this. No matter who we are. And the answer, "It has to happen to someone" is sadly, the truth. But still, even if you're given that answer, you still have this lingering question inside you that sounds; "WHY ME?". Exactly...the same question is still there. Even with that answer, the question still feels unanswered. That's why you could also say that there is no answer to the question "Why me?". However, there are answers to other questions, like "What now?", "How can i prevent things like that happening again, to me or others?", "Who should i talk to?" "When should i move on?". These questions all have an answer, and if you can manage to focus on and find these answers, you will be able to move away from the unanswerable question "Why me?".

Being a listener has helped me battle my depression and anxiety. It also helps me to see positivity in every person i talk to. I am able to help people who have been through things by empathising with them. It helps me grow as an individual when i listen to the problems of others and try and help them.

Many people find themselves asking the age-old question, "why me?", typically in the lower points of their life. It's true, life isn't fair. It has many ups and downs, and it can be an incredible experience at times. It can also be an awful experience. Some people are even guilty for feeling bad because other people 'have it worse'. While it may be true that other people are in worse physical or mental condition, it doesn't mean that we should ignore our own issues- if we aren't strong ourselves, then we won't be able to help others. Yes, bad things do happen, but those bad experiences make the good ones that much more beautiful. Most people don't deserve the suffering they get, but that suffering can be turned around in such a positive way. It gets better

Why not you? Whatever you are going through it is making you an stronger individual. Just because you see no point of the pain that you are feeling, does not mean later that you are thankful that you went through it.

Ah, I know this question well. It's easy to dip into the "victim" role when we are at a loss for answers. I often find it's best to reframe this question, as it will only enable us to dwell on the circumstance at hand instead of changing it. I have found it easier to see each of these inquiries as an opportunity to change something.
