...See more It’s been three months since I found out that the girl I’ve been in love with for eight years, but never confessed to, is in a serious relationship with someone else. While it was devastating, I somehow managed to make my peace with it and tried to move on. It hasn’t been easy, but I still managed to do it. But right now, I’m missing her so much. She keeps coming back to my mind, and I can’t help but feel desperate to have her. Maybe it’s because of the loneliness. After a year of unemployment, I finally got my first job at a decent company with a decent salary, but I had to relocate. I’m in a place where I don’t speak the local language, I don’t know anyone, and I can’t easily connect with my colleagues. I cut off the rest of my friends because I was too depressed after the revelation. And now, I don’t have a chance to reconnect, everyone is busy with their own lives

...See more I just can't keep going anymore. I am tired and exhausted. The girl I've been in love with for eight years is with someone else now. I can't get a job. I've been upskilling, but that made me leave DSA, and now I can't bring myself to start with DSA again. It's exhausting. Everyone I know is moving on with their lives. I can't get my mind to function anymore. I come from a family of top achievers, and I am nowhere near them. I am on bad terms with all of my friends or family members. I am depressed, angry, addicted to porn and masturbation, and I don't feel smart at all. I can't walk straight, I limp a lot (I don't know why). I have very poor eyesight, and it just keeps getting worse. Because of my porn and masturbation addiction, I've stopped respecting women, and I feel deeply guilty for that. For being such a bad person. I don't know what I can do or where I can go from here. I am terrified of wasting my youth (I'm 24 years old), terrified of never growing up emotionally and mentally, and, worst of all, I am terrified that one day I will become a bad person (the kind of person my past and current self would hate).

...See more I thought I had moved on from her. For a while, it even felt like I had. But lately, she keeps resurfacing in my mind, and it's been driving me crazy. I'm frustrated, really frustrated. I've been working out consistently for the past eight days, hoping the physical effort would help me shake her off, or at least distract me. But it hasn't worked. She's still there, and the longing hasn’t faded. I want to be with her so badly, but I know deep down that it's not possible. Moving on is the only option I have, but how do you move on from someone you've been in love with for eight years? Someone you've built an entire imaginary life and happiness, all in your head? I don’t know what changed. Just a few days ago, I was feeling a bit better. I thought I made peace with the fact the we'd never be together and she's happy with someone else. I thought I was finally moving on from her. Some context as well: I’ve had a crush on a girl from school for over eight years. Nearly every day, I’d hug my pillow and pretend it was her, building these comforting fantasies where we were a couple, deeply in love, building a life together. I had opportunities to talk to her, maybe even confess. And honestly, there were signs she might’ve felt something too. But I held back. I convinced myself to focus on self improvement, academics, career, becoming “worthy”, before taking any step toward her. Then, recently, I saw her *** posts. She’s with someone now. Seeing those pictures with her boyfriend crushed me. It was like watching the version of our life I built disappear into someone else's reality.

...See more A few days ago, I was doing just fine. My mind was off her, and I was able to focus on my life. But since yesterday, I’ve found myself back in that place where I can't stop thinking about her. It’s worse now. My mind keeps drifting to thoughts like, "What would she be doing right now?" or "Is she doing couple things with her boyfriend?" It’s frustrating not being able to get her out of my head.

...See more I've spent my life trapped in the past, never truly focused in the present. At the slightest trouble, my mind instantly drifts back, reliving old wounds and regrets. The memories, the time, the situations, the bullies, the friendships, the love interests, the mistakes, are all still there. I can’t seem to move on, nor can I make peace with them.

...See more I've had strong feelings for a girl for eight years but never told her. After recently finding out she has a boyfriend, the past few days have been tough. But, the good news is that I'm starting to move on (deactivating social media has helped a lot) What still bothers me, is the fact that she never knew how much I loved her. It bothers me that I never got to confess my feelings, and now, she might not even remember me. Even if she does, I know a day will come when she'll eventually forget about me completely. Maybe I'll get over it. I hope I do.

The past few days have been brutal, but today, I finally started to feel like I was moving on. Yet now, all of a sudden, I feel nothing, no pain, no sadness, no anger, no laughter. It’s as if I’ve completely shut down.

...See more I've spent the last eight years imagining a relationship with a woman I never approached because I didn't see myself as relationship material. Instead, I focused on improving myself, academically, career wise, and personally, working through anxiety, low self esteem, and struggles with excessive porn and masturbation. A few days ago, I found out she's in a relationship. Since then, I've barely smiled or moved from my bed. The past few days have been brutal. But right now, at this very moment, I feel like I’m finally starting to move on. The pain is still there, but it's not as overwhelming. Is this normal? I’ve heard it takes months to get over someone, but maybe it’s different since we were never actually together. It was always a one sided romance, something that existed only in my head, so maybe that makes it easier to let go. I don’t know much about heartbreak, but I do know these last few days were some of the hardest I’ve ever experienced. And yet, right now, the pain feels lighter. The only thing that still bothers me is the thought that she’ll never know just how deeply I felt for her.
