Say Hello! We want to meet all 40 year old members!
I
Good morning everyone. I am a new member. I am still navigating the site to figure things out but I am happy to be here.
Hey!
Happily turned 44 a few weeks back.
3 things about me -
1. I love reading books.
2. I blog whenever I find time, which is rarely
3. I am working and though every day is not a perfect day, I love being a solution provider, something I owe to the nature of my job.
Hi, I joined fairly recently and turned 43 last month.
I've been married for 5 years. We have a blended family with two kids (14 and 10) from previous relationships. The blended family aspect is definitely our biggest challenge--we recently concluded that our family isn't really going to blend after all and that we'll keep things separate when my husband's daughter is with us.
To me, the hard part is seeing how difficult it is sometimes and wondering if my husband and I should really be together. It feels like it shouldn't be this much work. Then again, I wonder if I am asking too much of my marriage and should look to friends/family for some of the emotional support I lack in my marriage.
I just turned 48 years old last week. I have been married three times. I have four daughters, most of them grown. I have struggled most of my adult life to give my kids a fairly well adjusted upbringing but that has had its trials and tribulations. I feel like my entire life is nothing but a giant trainwreck and has been for many years.
My first husband died, three years into our marriage. I was only 24. I raised our daughter without him. My second husband made it abundantly clear that I was not good enough for him because I suffered with depression. His reaction to my illness was "snap out if it"... for which I wanted to throat punch him. Obviously he made no attempt to understand what I went through. I did try one more time to marry, and what a mistake that was. He has control issues. After all this I feel like I am in a downward spiral and wil never gain control of my own life again. Anxiety is controlling me and my depression is horrible. I just keep putting on a brave face and taking life day by day, hour by hour.
My name is ricki I am so sorry you had to go through two husbands guys so bad I'm a really good person I don't believe in hurting the one I love
Just quickly wanted to pop in and say hello. Looking forward to getting to know you all :)
Hello everybody! I am 40 and out of work right now. My struggle is with dysthymia, which is a cronic depression. So, apparently I have it all my life, I just didnt know why I was different from my friends and why I felt that way. I was diagnosed with 35yo. 5 years ago, because of a crises I couldnt get out from, when my mon. I have been treated since then with meds and therapy but lately I have being down again. It is very frustrating not being able to see the light in the end of the tunnel. But at the same time its part of me, this passion about helping people. It is like I put a mask and say and do all the proper things. This mask goes over (as well) the smile mask, of course. I think since I have been doing for so long, I am good at it now. Lol
Hi I'm also 40, unemployed, and dealing with depression. Mine's Major Depressive disorder. I totally understand because I went through similar. It's like as soon as you start to feel better, you have to protect that happiness and one little thing will send right back down. Even hearing a plane flying or seeing two people going down the street can set it off. I also am trying to find a way out and there's only one I have came up with and it involves me throwing myself off a bridge and into a grave. That sounds better and better every day.
Hi. I am turning 45 on Thursday. I am female, on my third marriage (which third time is a charm), 2 kids (21 boy, 18 girl). My son has already given me 3 grandkids (1 grandson, set of twin girls). I have always had problems with depression but now it is both depression and anxiety. It mainly started 3 years ago when my mom died suddenly (accidental overdose). The cause really got me down. I hate my job, my son and his gf is always fighting and she brings me into it because I will listen. My son is like his dad (2nd marriage) nothing is his fault everyone elses. My daughter drives me crazy with her attitude. My husband is my only sane part. He is my rock.
40 right up! 2 kids w/ 2 fathers both deadbeat, never been married.
Cant believe Im in my 40s
so fuckin depressed I guess its a shame Ive lived this long like this.
