Feeling so alone and scared
So, things haven't been going well for a long time. I've been off work for 1 1/2 years for health reasons, my job has just informed me that they have restructured and my position was eliminated. Now my insurance is cancelled, and I don't have any income. I live alone, don't have any friends or family, and social anxiety has me trapped inside my house. I'm afraid to even go in my yard because every time I do, my neighbour starts criticizing me for falling behind on maintenance (which is not helping). I have no idea what to do. I keep trying to find help and/or resources to start getting beyond the CPTSD walls that have me confined but without income or insurance....... Problem solving is not one of my strong suits and I really need some. Would anyone have any suggestions for where I might find that kind of help (I'min Ontario)? Or would anyone be willing to chat and help me find some hope that somewhere inside of me there is something worthwhile?
@ForgettableGirl
I am really sorry this is so hard for you.
To be hit with so much all at the one time, that's overwhelming.
I hope some people here might know of places that you might be able to turn to for help.
But you are definitely worth it , never doubt that 💖

@ForgettableGirl
Hello and welcome. I am sorry for all of your health issues and for the difficult things that you are going through. Sorry to hear about your job that was abolished. I am not familiar with Ontario, therefore I do not know what resources may be available for you. Please be assured that you are a worthy individual who is going through a difficult time in their life. Maybe you could do some google research on your computer inquiring about financial assistance for people who have lost their job and about whether or not health insurance is available for people without a job.
I hope that you will be able to find some assistance. There is a possibility that some of the other listeners may be familiar with where you live and they may have some answers for you.
Best wishes.
I’m so sorry to hear that you’re experiencing so much pain, and in so many ways. My first thought, not knowing Ontario well, is to call a help line. My cousin worked a call center for veterans in Ontario and he’d chat with them, but also connect them to services. Is there a like resource for civilians?
And of course…If you need/would like to chat sometime, please let me know. Regardless, you ARE worthwhile. And you’re reaching out and sharing which is a true sign that you’re moving in a positive direction. Well done, and keep going!!
Reaching out shows that you have it in you…. YOU CAN DO THIS, DONT GIVE UP!!
Going outside and catching up on maintenance is a great way to start, and when your neighbor has something nasty to say, either brush it off with laughter, or, give it right back to him with the truth! ‘ I’ve been ill, thank you so much for being so caring that you want to help me out!’ ‘I’ve been stuck inside for a year and a half, you care so much that you wait until I’m outside to say something nasty to me instead of knocking on my door to see if I was alright?’
GIVE IT RIGHT TO HIM!! THE TRUTH WILL SET YOU FREE! YOU CAN DO IT!!! YOU ARE MORE THAN WORTH IT!!
@ForgettableGirl
you can get help dialing 211, or going to findhelp.ca
I wish you the very best, and you are always welcome in my PM's if you need to talk.
Hey, I’m John. I know exactly how you feel. I have ptsd from Iraq war. I to feel trapped from social anxiety. I’d love to talk more and see if maybe we can help eachother. I hope to talk to u
Stay strong. Have faith. Try volunteering on something new. Take a walk outdoor. Smile. And be grateful.
Your joy is just around the corner.
All that's needed is for you to put on some positive attitude even if you feel you dont' have a reason to have one right now.
Good luck!
Are you wanting to look for another job that fits with your health concerns or are you wanting to find services to cope with your CPTSD? I'm on the West Coast, but I know some people in Ontario that I can ask.
@ForgettableGirl
I was walked out fuve monthes ago furced on leave. I had a ptsd flare up, they thought my crying was a threat
Since then work hasnt really tried to reach iut to me. No asked if i was alright. Im in a union and havent heard from them either.
5 monthes and i have been waiting to hear something
My pay was cut alit and health bills are high. Hoping i can pay my bills, husband just started new job.
I feel so alone....
@Melly321
i read what you shared and im just so sorry. being ignored for five months by your work and the union while your struggling with ptsd is just... its heartbreaking and so unfair.
u shouldnt have to carry this much weight on your own, especially with the bills. crying isnt a threat, its just a human reaction. hang in there... you arent alone even if it feels like it right now.
