New, anxious and birthday is coming

I am new to my diagnosis and I'm afraid I'll get worse now that I can put names to my problems. I tried to go to the store the other day, even put in my headphones but it didn't work. Panic and anxiety took over. I tried to explain how it feels to my husband today.

Like a ball filled with anxiety and the anxiety pushes out of that ball like a pulse, and I can't breathe and shooting pains go through my body. And it just repeats itself. I think of everything they needs to be done or paid and then I panic. He tried to understand but if you don't go through it I don't think it's easy to understand.

And now my b day is coming and I am assessing my life and feel very down. I should not be like this at my age!

It's hard when we are hitting certain birthdays and overthinking our whole life , this is however natural.

And it is hard for people to understand, when they are not going through it.

But it's important to keep communicating and knowing you don't have to have the answers all at once.

It's about trying different methods of coping that work for you.

Until you are in a happier and safer head space 🩷

Thank you,

I need to learn to break my thoughts down so I'm not thinking of everything all at once. Focus on the here and now. That's one of my goals.

Your right about keep communicating. I never thought of that, when people don't understand I just give up

Exactly. I'm trying to put myself in a one day at a time and one thing a day but it's so difficult. I will be 46 still young but my body is definitely getting older and I used to be able to dig trenches better than some guys and now after knee surgery I have a hard time squatting. I'm used to physical jobs. Then there's the what have I accomplished for myself. People don't really get that cause all they say is you have life to 2 beautiful girls. And yes that is amazing and I'm so grateful but that is not my personal accomplishment. Continuing my education, making 70 grand a year, etc. those are some personal accomplishments I want. Sorry I'm venting.

Hi how are you. I have same anxiety if i give names and focus on my issuses, it will get worse.

When i was new to my diagnosis, i felt similar to this. Explaining to someone who hasn't experienced anxiety is not easy and might not work everytime(if it does then very good, and I'm happy for you) so i would suggest not keep too much of expectations from anyone no matter how close you're to them.

Also the most important thing that you need to do is accept what you're feeling, you will not always have an answer to why you're feeling that certain way and it's completely alright. Don't think too much on it and let it be just the way it is or else you'll end up in a spiral of emotions which might worsen your anxiety.

I wish you the best. I hope you're getting all the help you need. I suggest you keep practicing breathing exercises as well. Take care❤️

Accepting what I'm feeling is so hard. I was raised it's all in your head get over it. So I feel like I need to have answer and solution and really control over it. The less control I have the worse my anxiety gets. I have started to do the process of one day and one thing a day. So I don't focus on everything at once and make it worse.

Yes I need to not expect the world of understanding from loved ones. They are still trying to be there for me and help by understanding the best they can.

It just gets frustrating when they ask me to leave the house and run an errand for them because of my moderate agoraphobia. Then asking that makes me feel like they don't understand.

Thank you for having the courage to share.

I thought that being able to give a name to my problems and understanding them would help me solve them. It didn't.

I understand some of your panic and anxiety, from personal experience. I hope your husband can support you through this with kindness and compassion
