Challenge ideas

This week I thought we would do something a little different and ask you as a community on some ideas on what you would like to see for future challenges to help the community and yourself.

Some ideas we will be working on soon are:

- Self Esteem Challenge
- Self-Love Challenge
- Positivity Challenge
- Self-Care - exercising 3 times a week for 1 month

What other ideas do you all have?

@DanaMH I try to challenge myself with being mindful in real life. That helps me cope with difficult situations.

Make your own mantra challenge 🙂

@Zengrl

That is a great idea. I remember doing that a few years ago in a therapy group I attended and totally forgot about that.

@Zengrl I agree that make your own mantra is a great idea. What do you think about calling it your magic word or focus word or grounding word? I think those may be easier for a broader audience to hear.

@soulsings Yeah mantra is not a usual term. Magic may have negative connotations for religious people too. Maybe Power Phrase?

@Motinez57 yes that is a great idea. I used to find myself having critical thoughts so I started repeating "what did I do right?" The negative thinking slowly let go of its grasp on me.

@DanaMH

Dana 1 from 10 sounds pretty good to me. Television seems to be the number 1 in home entertainment today and I think it's okay if watched in proportion.

@DanaMH I like the follow your breath challenge. See how many cycles of breathing you go without chasing your thoughts. If you chase a thought no judgement, just come back gently to follow the breath

I can do the mental excersizes, but Im unable to do the physical challenges. I was looking for possible adjustment ideas to taylor the challenge a little bit for some of us dealing with chronic pain, and disabilities. its ok, i can do the parts i can as they are. 😊

@feelNeglected77 I hear you. Well I find mindfulness helps with pain and also with self esteem. Want a link to the Mindfulness Video Library?

@soulsings

Thank you. I've had a few good days in a row, like a balance but I pushed to hard, anf my feeling better led me to volunteer myself for a long week staying at their home. So now the worrying has set in because I must be very careful to find and hold a balance again for an entire week because an elderly lady needs me to be fully present as I over see her care. I wont have anything hard to do, and having somebody to talk to is always helpful for me. I just cannot let worry control me. My friends are very grateful that I said yes. I need to lean on faith and it should all work out well. I will introduce her to 7cups, and she may want to create her own membership. I found this thread in my searching for help I may not have known and that I knew I need 😊

Thank you for the link. Enjoy your night. See you in a wird game soon 👌

I really like what you mentioned particularly the part about doing something silly (in a funny way), something unexpected to get out of the routine and experience excitement.
