What is something you would like to paint on your first day if you were an artist?
The woods and some animals
But wait, I AM an artist.
I don't usually paint, but if I did, I would use watercolors and make a lot of cool color designs without actually painting a "thing" - more of an abstract play of color.

In the last couple decades I have NOT touched my Oils.
Many many years of private tutorial and education and experience.
Had been taught in many mediums from coal, pencil, ben, ink well, coffee, water color, etc.
Had been taught in many techniques from stippling, cross hatch, Wet on Wet, Thick vs Thin, Heavy vs Light, etc
Bob Ross reminds me that I am <Fill the Blank>
That all being said, Oils can be a great distraction from all the things in life that is confusing, misunderstood, hateful, cruel, unloving. It does demand provide structure, guidance, avenues, spiritual, unconditional, unbiased, clear canvas. When you make a mistake, the canvas doesn't care, When you make a mistake, the audience won't see it. When you make a mistake, only YOU will know.
Art is the closest you can be to God. For you have the power to create or destroy (depending on whom the speaker is).
My preference in the word of Art is PENCIL.
Why?
It is thee most complex form and medium.
It provides the audience the opportunity to define.
In example, Put a Red Vase with 3 Red Roses in it. Now bring a hundred people in and have them "paint" what they see. And you will have a hundred different paintings. I am sure that at least one painting will only have 2 Roses. I am sure there will be different Reds being used.
NOW, who's is right?
What about the person whom is color blind? or how about that one blind person?
Perception, Perspective, and culture influence the painting.
Now back to the Pencil, see how the artist gives the audience more?
Next is the technique, Pencil demands the artist to expand and express with it's skill of holding the pencil, the sharpness of the pencil (even lack of being sharp). It is best expressed in the "Art of Wielding the Pencil". The craft and skill can be easily seen Pencil, while in Art of the Oil, it is the flaws that are more used. Expressing the difference between Cotton, Silk, and Cold Steel is not easy with a pencil.
But fear not Pencil, there is great joy with "doodling". Doodling is Art,. Brandishing ones pencil for the art of doodling will only bring joy for there isn't rules or structure or boundaries to stay within.

I love painting!! It's been a while since I painted something actually because of depression I lack motivation to do everything. But I hope one day I'll be back at it. And I would love to draw a landscape. A flower field in the countryside ❤

With those big brushes I would paint a mural of a lake and a wonderful valley.
