Technology can be tricky and to be honest I find not always easy to understand but it has also so many benefits and not only for younger people but for everyone.
What kind of technology items do you find helpful for seniors?
Something that became quite important in my life is my laptop since it makes certain tasks simply much easier and also cheaper like downloading e-books, searching for information and also ordering things I need.

I have no idea, but I'm excited to read the input from others on this one! My mom has been struggling to grasp new technology, and I'd love to find ways to help her stay connected without it being a source of frustration.

It can be very tough on a person trying to understand and remember what was explained and use it particularly when one has not grown up with it. Would the use of Alexa make sense?

You've got that right. Could you imagine being a senior broke down in your car with this heat - with no cellphone? As much as I hate seeing people being led around with their cellphones, nose down... there is a use for them. (Don't like how they take away eye contact, even with strangers. I like being nice to people. Smiling. Saying, "How yah doin'" once in a while. Cellphones have taken a lot of that away... 😔

I hear you, it's sad to see people walking on the street or even talking to you but eyes on phone screen. Guess it boils down to how we make use of technology and having a phone when the car is broken down and you're really desperate is simply helpful!
Without doubt, my computer. I spend time on it all day long doing hundredth of different things.

Computers became very important in these days for private but also work stuff. I hope those that you still take time off and get outside into nature or just do some other things to relax and detox from technology.

I hear yah... 😉 We gotta get off the screen and move. That's why I like my Fitbit app that makes me do at least 250 steps an hour during the day. I shoot for 50 to 75% of my target times. I spread the times across the whole day so I have lots of time to hit that mark.
I watch how much time I even spend here on 7 Cups. I login at different times of the day and try to keep my presence here short and sweet each time and then get back to my day here. It's all about forming a balance between all the things I want to accomplish in my day.

I hear you, sometimes it needs time to get familiar with them. When I do not understand something I usually try to find a turtorial video to watch, it helps.

When I was young I never had issues with small prints but now being older I like to make them bitter too so using the zoom option in the browser address bar comes in handy but of course one can do it also in the settings under appearance, font size.

I fully agree, it can be a blessing for some people who are for example bed bound and allow them to still connect with loved ones and the outside world.
