I agree that age is a number, and I can dream big and set achievable goals for myself. I may never reach them but I can surely strive to reach the moon😊

I agree with him. I'm struggling now with many conflicting thoughts and what I would call nonproductive thoughts - daydreaming about things that would and could never happen. I know I need to clear my mind of those thoughts to be able to do what I want to do, but it's easier said than done. I do think I can do it.

Probably true. I am about to turn 60 and I just applied to grad school. I am reinventing myself and hope to begin a new career.

I'm sorry if you're currently in a situation which makes you feel no goals or dreams are possible anymore. Sometimes my only goal is to enjoy a quiet morning, feel the fresh air on my skin and listen to the birds chirping.
Very strong agree. I have been hugely inspired by Seymour Bernstein lately. He stopped performing recitals on the piano when when he was 50 years old, then started again at the age of 90. He's 95 now, and he's just getting started, he says. He had some issues with performance anxiety, but he got those all sorted out, with the help of a new friend who is an actor. There's a movie about his battle with stage fright called "Seymour: An Introduction" and it's made by his friend, Ethan Hawke.
I have metastatic cancer, but I'm still buying new instruments and teaching myself to play them. Booking a flight to Vegas, and finally learning to sight read sheet music. Having things to look forward to is a big part of what keeps us alive!

Seymour Bernstein shows that if you put your mind into it the most unbelievable things can become reality. He is a great inspiration but you are too! I believe having something to look forward to can be a major driving force in the most harshest situations. So sorry to hear about your cancer ❤️
I agree.
Setting goals is a conscious and unconscious thing we all do in one way or another throughout our lifetimes. Dreaming depends on the individual but I agree it's never too late. Dreams can become goals.

It can be intimidating seeing how much experience some people have. However, I met people in life being in a job for a quite short time and having more experience than those doing a job for a long time. The reason was they kept an open mind and tried out more things.

You're only as old as you think you are. I'm still in my 20s in my brain. Silly, young, hopeful. I want to create art, start new businesses, be famous. Who cares how long I've been on the planet. :)

Well, considering I'm almost 70 and still kicking - I AM a life-time learner. I've embarked on a new journey to learn more about something called kabbalah. Just have a curiosity at this point. And I'm in the process of learning new machine embroidery skills. My daughter and I are learning tarot and oracle card reading together. We give each other readings...long distance. It's a lot of fun and it's so special to share this journey with her. So yeah!! You're never to old to set a new goal or to dream a new dream. 😊

@EmbStitcher33 Congrats, but that's a lofty mountain to climb indeed. If you want to learn kabbalah, you need to know the Torah (five books of Moses) first. And you need to know it well, as in being fluent in the original Hebrew & all. kabbalah demands a lot of fluency in scripture.
Be careful of who you go to for learning kabbalah...there are genuine teachers of it but there are also plenty of frauds who will take your money while filling your head with claptrap. Good luck.

I've heard that all that is not necessary now. That we're in a different time than those who learned years ago. I am pretty well versed with the Bible. I've found a place I feel comfortable checking out. If this feels like something other than genuine I know where the exit sign is. I hear what you are saying and I respect what you believe. But my beliefs are different. If this doesn't feel right, I believe my higher power will tell me. He has done so in the past.
