Someone who was always very inspiring to me is Tina Turner. She never gave up on life, overcame so many struggles and made a good life for herself at the end.

There was a lovely lady who lived across the road from my Mum called Mrs Chadwick. She was always saying how wonderful everything was .
I didn’t really understand as a child but now I often think of her saying that .

Hi, Peace,
The people who were my role models when I was a young girl, turned out to be bad role models in adulthood.
Now I get fragments of roles to use as models for myself, from various other people. A friend in England for some things. A friend in Singapore for other things. God for some things, but not all things, as I can't say that I truly understand God at all times.

I believe there is no person who would be the perfect role model so choosing the parts you find helpful in others sounds good.
Tina Turner is truly inspirational.
For me my father, mother, grandmother and a few school teachers were super inspirational.

My dad, for as long as he was here. And, my maternal grandma and grandpa.
I had a very special therapist many years ago that really was amazing. Never met another like him. He's gone now. He helped me understand my PTSD. He made me feel like I wasn't crazy.
I had a biology teacher that just hit a nerve in me. I worked very, very hard in that class for every assignment. I did so well I didn't have to study for tests. I just knew all the answers. I remember one test I made a big deal out of not studying for it. I was the first one done taking the test and I got the best grade. He probably shouldn't have done it but the teacher put us all on a point system and posted all of our scores on the board. I was way ahead of the whole class. I felt good about doing well, but I feel bad for the ones who were slower learners. I honestly think he shouldn't have posted for all to see.

Good that you had someone who really understood what PTSD is about so you could learn it's not about craziness but true challenges to face.
Wow, you seem to be a smart cookie 😊 but I can understand that you did not want to give others the feeling of feeling bad about it but on the other side I wonder whether it could have encouraged them to achieve what you did?!

True, some of those kids at the bottom of the list just didn't give a shhhh.... darn.
There were others though, who did struggle. I can only hope that I inspired some of them to catch up to me. I just can't get over that one test I didn't study for. Should of seen the looks on the kids faces when I walked up to the teachers desk to hand in my test before anyone else. They all thought, huh, she guessed... she'll fail... lmbo. The joke was on them. They were shocked when they heard I beat them all. It was all about just paying attention every day in class... nothing special.

It's my Mom. She's brave, and smart, and talented, and funny. And she is the glue that holds our family together. She's strong when no one else is - even when she doesn't want to be.

Having people skills is truly important as a police officer. It's nice to have a parent being a role model!
This is a hard question. But I would say Martina Navratilova. She has a strong personality, and when she played tennis professionally she changed women’s sports. She also mentored other players, teaching them what she had learned.

I agree Lauren63, an amazingly strong person! Loved to see her playing tennis.
Thinking about what person I would name whom I've never met, I would say Helen Keller is a great inspiration for me. Despite her limitations....she overcame them and achieved a very fulfilling life. I guess I should also name her teacher and companion, Anne Sullivan. She really worked hard and effectively to break through Helen's walls.

Ella Harper, aka the Camel Girl from the late 1800s. She was a circus act who had bent forward knees who quit her job that paid good money weekly to get an education and find an occupation of her choice.
I recommend researching her! She said my favorite quote: “It's amazing how someone can break your heart, but you still love them with all the little pieces.” <3
