@amiablePeace77

A year ago, various memes and comments online claimed that the year 2020 would be a year of 20/20 vision, that we would gain clarity into the meaning of life, of what we wanted in life, where we were going, etc. etc. The interpretation depended on one's perspective, of course (as in all things). Well.... I guess you could say we got some perspective on what's meaningful. frown

What I am looking forward to is finally getting some hint as to which fork in the road I will take. I've been at this crossroads in life seemingly for years, and I'm tired of dithering and wondering which is the better path. To paraphrase Robert Frost, I'll probably choose the road less taken, and hopefully that'll make all the difference.

@InquireWithin

I hope that whatever road you're taking will be the right one for you. New roads or less travelled ones might be not as easy as the more travelled ones but also might lead to better views.

I agree that this year truly showed us what is important in life...

@amiablePeace77 What is something you look forward to in the next year (apart from hopefully end of the virus situation)?

I think approaching life mindfully is an ongoing process where progress may be measured in years not days. So a long range goal is to learn more how to practice living mindfully. What I learned so far tells me that this type of life style is a more joyful one for me.

@soulsings

That's a good goal to have in mind, same here, live more mindfully in future.

Looking forward to making new friends. I'm in a new city, hoping to find the courage to reach out more than I have so far.

@amiablePeace77, maybe feeling like I can stand myself in my own skin. Or that and clubs being able to meet in person again. I've been wanting to join a dance club but they have been stopped due to covid.

@purpleTree4652 I hear you. Many of us miss socializing IRL when there are so many places shutting down. I was a little surprised when I did a google search under "online dance clubs zoom" and there are many happening but some of them are charging fees.

Seems like many things are going online.

I'm looking forward to seeing my son go off to college. Yes, I will cry a ton and it will take me a decade to learn how to live without him being home, but I'm really excited to see him graduate high school and begin his adult life.

@thoughtfulmomma I hear you and feel sorry for your empty next. It is never easy to have that change from dependence to independence of children.

@Lolowise475 I hear you somedays I just do what is necessary. Got 2-3 inches of slushy snow. Went out and shoveled it off. Not excited about doing it but feel better physically and mentally after doing it.

Hi. I am doing okay. I had to sit and think about next year. I am hoping to find a new and cheaper place to live and I'm also thinking about going to school and finding a Job. I hope this isn't too much to ask/work for.

@Goldcherry2113 wow you sound very motivated. When I was trying to finish college I did 40 hours of a job, full time student but I lived with parents paying $25 a week board. I was exhausted when I finally graduated.

It is up to you what you do. If you are safe in your current housing, that is a good thing during Covid. Having irresponsible roommates could be less expensive but result in sickness.

Whatever you do, know that you always have an extended family here.
