What I’m always thankful for: The sun, being alive, being exactly who I am, never giving up, getting through everything I’ve gotten through no matter what, this community and everyone I’ve met or became friends with here

thankful we safe and we able to live without abuse in our life daily we think back to a few May some were painful like last time we saw our kids and lost parental rights but even then a blessing as we was free to leave now ex hubby did not have to worry about him hurting them and us
it was in may our marriage was legally end we was free of that abuse
but the big thing we very thankful for is our cat she really helps us feel better

thank you we regret not getting out sooner stayed in it 47 yrs but from very very young age we was told to take care of mom emotionally she even then was codependent on us over the years got even more so guess kinda we was emotionally her parent she never was there emotionally due to her own abuse and never getting help she used her abuse to get pity even used our abuse after we was adult to get pity but we did not want to be another one that abandoned her as she tell us stories of her abuse conpare our abuse to her abuse a lot too but we thought we was to take care of her emotionally
but a very dear friend online we known over 20yr worked with us even on this but we rejected the truth a lot but she was very nice never pushed us to do anything until we was ready she a disabled therapist who not been able to work in many many years but she always helped us for free she was a big part of us living family getting out of the abuse
so this also a story of how people online matter when they help others as in away she saved us even from ourselves by helping us see truth and teaching us what is abuse even things we thought was not abuse that be abuse
so want to say people like you do help others change their life for the better we seen this all over 7 cups too

thanks we free from the abuse at peace with that but due partly to the abuse we have many health issues physically and mentally most never think of the long term physical health issues of abuse until they having them hope others can hear us get out of abuse sooner and within that avoid some of the long term effects of abuse on their body and mind
